Okay so Eddie Kelly is out, and so is Jack Barton. DE becoming a huge position of need. Barton was running with the 2s for the spring game. So he’s leaving I’m assuming because he wants to start his last year and he thought he could win the job here.

McGee is a great coach, but they are having no spring practice/spring game. I feel like that’s too much to ask for them to be ready to go week 1 against us. Maybe a couple of years down the road.

I think this is gonna hurt more than we think. We don’t get singleton without Kenyatta, which his mom mentioned today on Twitter. But as another poster mentioned, we are better set up to handle this than we were a few years back. So hopefully we’ll be okay.

He tore his ACL in his first spring practice. And I think he never fully recovered enough to break into the rotation. He was in the two deep for the LB, but I don’t think he was rotated in much. Maybe first off the bench if someone got hurt type of thing.

Malcolm Pugh and Bryston Dixon in the transfer portal. both true Freshman DL. I think in this day with the transfer portal and such, I don't think these guys would have gotten play time anytime soon here. Apparently Dixon was injured all year tho.

No one knows except for maybe the coaches. Based on numbers it feels like we are already over the 85 scholarship limit. But there could be more heading out not announced yet. It seems we are still in for a few 2024 recruits so it seems like we are also not done either. And I’m sure we are going...

We are coming into an interesting situation where not a lot of people are leaving. (>20 graduating, 5 in the portal currently) but we have a ton of players coming in with the 2024 class and us being active on the transfer portal. The spots on the roster will become a premium… will be interesting...

It lets the coaches try to finish out the season on a high note before they are let go though, if they are retained through the bowl game.

The cynic in me will think this happens after the bowl game, because then the players for the 2024 class would have signed their letters of intent by then. I’m assuming we’d hear stuff this week if there is changes before the bowl game, otherwise it’ll be after.

Man I just don't get it. Why is it always assumed the grass is always greener? No one wants to wait for their opportunity. With Smith gone, Cooley has the opportunity to earn that starting role back alongside Haynes next year.
