I actually want sports back. I’m an avid fan and former, sometimes still competitive athlete. Sports are awesome for me, and I’m a very competitive person by nature. But I want it back in a way that’s actually fun and enjoyable to watch, and ultimately safe for the SAs. Even if the...
I’ve definitely noticed that too. There’s nothing in their carefully worded statements that indicate to me that even they think they WILL play. It’s just more or less saying we are proceeding as if we may/we aren’t cancelling YET, but leaving the door open for that. Fans are totally taking it...
Honestly, as soon as outbreaks start occurring on campus among the general student body (and I don’t see how they don’t occur), I think most universities will close back down/move to distance learning. There’s zero way to get college aged people to listen and follow COVID protocols.
i agree. I don’t think there’s really any way the remaining conferences actually have football. It’s more of a PR thing at this point in my opinion. Buy more time until you have to do the inevitable, MAYBE also more time for a magic bullet to solve things, but at the end of the day look like...
It’s definitely lawyers and the possible legal nightmare that would ensue if the worst occurred if football was played that has caused the conferences to delay/cancel.

I definitely don’t know about everyone’s, and it’s certainly not a big deal to me, but mine is blue. There’s no question of it when looking at it in person. It’s even a very close match to virtually everything GT navy in my closet, and that’s a lot of stuff. Black is most definitely able to be...
Here’s how you tell navy when it’s hard to distinguish...put a known black beside it. Mask on the left is a known navy, mask on the right is a known black.
How will there absolutely be transfers? Do they even have time to transfer and play in any of the conferences that are, as of now at least, trying to play this Fall? And if they can’t make it to those schools for this season, they would be better off staying put as the cancelled conferences are...
i personally think fall football is done, mainly for a lot of the reasons you just stated. Bowl season/bowl sponsors seeing that now we have a good bit of major conference programs opting to “play in the spring”(I’m not sure that actually happens). I think playoffs are done due to that as well...
For those absolutely wanting football, it sounds like we (ACC fans) need to be rooting for the BIG12 to opt not to cancel/postpone. Sounds like ACC decision makers are leaning on the BIG12’s decision.
I don’t think it’s as easy as just joining a conference for a year:

As long as everyone can be safe, I actually hope you’re right. But since the PAC12 just cancelled, and I think the BIG12 won’t be far behind, I still just don’t see the ACC and SEC sticking to their guns and having a season.
Well, not that the season is/was gonna make it that far anyway, but if you have another major conference (or two) drop out, now I think you lose now sponsors and even playoff possibilities, as I don’t see it being very attractive to those that put the money behind those to participate. Not if...
Do we HONESTLY expect the other major conferences to cancel/postpone as well? I just don’t see them opting to have a season/attempt a season without all major conferences, especially if PAC12 and/or BIG12 follow suit. What does it really accomplish?
I think this is a reflection of the athletic directors not agreeing with the decision of the presidents. The ADs now have to worry with how to handle the finances of departments that have just lost huge revenue potential. Of course they (ADs) are scrambling right now.
I feel a little of this as well. I think there are more athletes hesitant to play than the fans realize. And maybe they have been scared to speak up until the relatively new trend of players’ banding together to have a larger voice, like what’s happened with in the PAC12 and BIG10
I agree. If in fact the BIG10 and PAC12 do cancel/“postpone”, I don’t see how any other conference moves on as scheduled. They would never win a liability case if one were to occur if other conferences have cancelled.
