    GT ATL Hats

It hasn’t been on sale YET. Using their own words. The 404 hat they did a similar program with last year did go on sale in a different color, that pissed off those that paid up for the original “limited” edition. You’d think they would have learned from the feathers they ruffled with that the...

    GT ATL Hats

Because it seems to miss the mark, and more or less shows they don’t understand the target audience. In the 2-3 official social media posts about this offer, there is MAYBE one positive comment I’ve seen. All the others are trashing the idea of SELLING a $200 hat, which is exactly the way it’s...

    GT ATL Hats

Why is “sell a hat for $200” the wrong way to take it? They literally say “...purchasing a limited editition "ATL" Hat”. The marketing for this is to buy the hat. The point is the donation, true, but the way it’s marketed is that it’s yet more gouging for a hat that I’m sure will be offered for...

I’ve got 4-5 of them (don’t ask me why...I have a thing for hats), and I’ve found that even with the most recent release, I still want to pick them out myself as the “T” still suffers from the centering issue. I’ve seen some that are a 1/2 inch off center, and it’s pretty common.

Haven’t seen it in gray. I snagged a few of the white ZNEs from the bookstore when they had the 75% off sale earlier in the year. Made them stupidly cheap.

It’s been in since baseball season. That’s one of the last ones the bookstore received.

Sorry, I should have clarified my last sentence when I said “new stuff”. I was specifically referring to new hats.

    Stansbury comments on season tickets

There is definitely also the cultural difference about sports that you speak of. Sports are a huge part of the overall more social culture of attending UGA. GT, not so much. Students cover up the football and even the basketball games at UGA, even when the basketball opponents are low quality...

There’s that too. Definitely a lot of people with money that are UGA fans. And like you said, lots of companies that spend money on UGA sports to advertise/entertain clients. After all, in GA, it’s the college team most people want to see. Look at Coca Colas massive tailgate they do for each...

Probably not as analytical or as wise with money. But they will spend it. I know of a guy who literally went $12,000 in debt to take his family to see UGA play Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl a couple of years ago. He’s not alone in doing things like that. Not many GT fans are going to do something...

    Stansbury comments on season tickets

I think that’s pretty easy to figure out. If $8000 a year gets you barely to the 10-15 yard line at Clemson, and $20,000+ a year gets you to about the 35 yard line at UGA (friend of mine that’s done that for 20+ years...I’ve sat with him when GT/UGA plays in Sanford), you tell me if anyone...

Talked with the bookstore the other day (I’m making friends there with as much as I spend!). They haven’t gotten ANY new hats from adidas since February. None of the new stuff is in, nor have expected land dates been given as of Tuesday.

That goes along with what I’m saying though. I just don’t see our current fan base/demographic forking over the money if/when we get to that sustained level. And maybe part of that level of success is also a chicken/egg scenario...which needs to come first? The success, or the money from the...

    Stansbury comments on season tickets

Just for up to date info, just text one of my Clemson fan friends. Her family has paid into IPTAY for probably as long as she’s been alive. They currently pay $8000 a year to IPTAY, in addition to parking and ticket prices for their seats. They sit lower bowl, about the 10 yard line. That’s...

    Stansbury comments on season tickets

It does get exhausting at times. I really don’t think we as a fan base (at least its current make up) would pay to support our program if we got to the success level of a Clemson or even a UGA. I know UGA and Clemson season ticket holders (quite a few of them actually) that pay $1000+ for...

    Stansbury comments on season tickets

I often wonder how our fan base will react if we get good/stay good to the point that demand for our tickets pushes prices more toward those of a Clemson, or UGA, or Auburn, etc. Where you have to “donate” hundreds or thousands a year on top of the ticket prices just to get season tickets...

And you could sell those Masters tickets for a hell of a lot more. I have customers that don’t batt an eye at paying $8,000 per person just for Masters badges for the week of the tournament. I’ve seen people on the street corners around Augusta National pay $800 per ticket just for practice...

You’re not wrong on that part at all. I’ve now been offered $1100 per ticket for my GT/ND game by the ND fan customer of mine I mentioned originally offered $800 per, if I’m able to get any on the 8th during my time slot (doubtful I’ll have any left by that point). I won’t sell out of...
