Alignments are dictated in part by the offense, but not 100%. You can play zone/man/combo in just about any scheme vs just about any of the offenses we see in our schedule. What we have to figure out is a scheme that allows us to cover with 5 and get home with our other 6.
Personally I want us...
I don’t want a change at HC. My understanding from various sources is that we will make a change at DC. If that is true I will throw a name out.
Blake Baker - he followed Diaz of Miami around and I think he is the DC at La Tech. He runs a 4/2/5 and a 2/4/5 defense. I like the idea of a 2/4/5...
His son. Whether he wants to stay or not will hopefully be up to him. I am just saying I hope he has that opportunity. If he doesn’t want to stay that is fine with me, I have no influence in the matter. It is just my perspective as a father.
That went the way my head thought it would.
Things I would like to see:
1. Open competition for QB this spring.
2. Scheme change on D. I think changes must be coming here...
3. Serious focus on our special teams. We didn’t seem to improve this year.
They are going to hit some plays. They run to setup play action like we do. They like to throw to their TEs a lot. We just need to stack the box and try to create negative plays on first and second down.
Their line isn’t as good as most people think. They get numbers to the play side by...
The best you could do is start detecting duplicate plays unless you knew the playbook. Time wise you would have to learn the play, pick a defensive play and an audible. Then get your defense lined up. That would be a hard task in 20 secs.
I think we are pretty overmatched this year. I am not conceding defeat, but I do think we are more of a longshot than usual. We aren’t really consistent enough to keep up with them in a shootout, and defensively we haven’t been able to generate turnovers.
