    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

FTRS named him in an article earlier today, so my couch research is dated already, but what would be the take on Matt Mumme as an OC candidate? Not sure how the RB room fits that offense, but it'd be fun to watch.

Street cop mantra, "you can be crazy and still be right"......

I've always looked at this as an expensive 4 year contract with options. If TStan had $$ lined up for a potential change already, I think the funding sources for the contract viewed it similarly. The success of the current changes dictate the rest of the outcome and put an immediate pressure...

    Staff Changes

If I see this right, the Get-Bak! Coach is saying the HC is back on the sidelines? Where's my irony font??

    Staff Changes

I don't have a hot take opinion yet. I am curious of others opinions. Presuming the staffing changes allow, would you rather elevate a new to the position guy, like Corey Dennis, to an OC or would you rather pay up to bring Dennis (or someone like him) to GT as a QB coach to enhance the staff...

    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

I always thought of Herman as a TX guy, but it is an intriguing thought as a smart guy with HC in waiting capabilities.

    Staff Changes

Lot of truth in this. Same result with a new guy breeds an optimism of untapped potential whether fair or not. CDP will land on his feet somewhere if wants to continue coaching.

    Different Thoughts and Solutions

    1. A consistent winner has to be the baseline floor, but is probably below most fan's expectations. There is such a rich history in our program, I want to cheer for sustained excellence, ACC championship competitors, and beyond. 2. Contract revenue is an equalizer for all teams, but is also...

    OC and DC replacement thoughts!!

Rich probably comes with too much baggage for GT, but given his reputation for colorful vocabulary, it would be interesting to listen in to RRs response when CGC recommended a play change.

Yeah, that Colorado State game was brutal, but it was late and I was being judgmental after yesterday's GT result. They are probably still trying to transition from the Bobo era......

Agreed. AD hires coach. Way too many examples at the next level up of empowering the coach too much. Wish I had some guilt $$. I'd throw in on the problem.

I'm in general agreement with this in post except for maybe this. Not sure the $$ accepts 'equal' responsibility. Making a change at AD at the same time would absolve them of some of that 'equal' responsibility. In mitigation, this is just random opinion making before I finish my coffee...

Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

As the father of five, I speak a lot in platitudes. I've said frequently that to consistently humble one's self is one of the most difficult things to do in life. I fail at it pretty regularly. I guess we'll see if CGC and TStan can demonstrate some needed self-awareness at this critical...

The engineer in me wants to know what the measurables are currently or have been, in addition to what they will be next year. My current boss has a plaque on the wall that says, "Try not to suck". That'd be a good start....

In a sweeping generalization reply, the AD usually gets two swings at hiring at his weak program. I think TStan outlives Collins because of solid programs elsewhere and his relations with the donor class. That said, I can't speak to the quality of his relationship with the $$, I don't have...

As I've aged as a sports fan, I find I'm as interested in the franchise building of a team/program as I am by the team's on-field performance (This is not to minimize my fan hopes for a win, just an acknowledgement that I find the mgmt side interesting in relation to outcomes). I am trying to...

I'm a quote guy at work, always gloaming around for something relevant. In Portsmouth, Ohio, there are a series of murals along the Ohio river, one of which depicts Branch Rickey, a local Scioto county guy. “Trade a player a year too early rather than a year too late", Rickey once said. If I...

Excited to watch this group compete this year. If CER continues his tradition of building better bigs, this team will play meaningful games in March.
