I spoke to a GT coach (personal friend too) over the weekend (non revenue sport) who is thrilled with Stansbury. He said Stansbury said, "Like it or not, you are stuck with me for a long time!" No more turnover in the AD position.
He said Bobinski wasn't bad but he didn't think highly of DRad.
The reason there were so few tickets remaining on Stubhub was they didn't release tickets in the upper deck except at the 50 yard line. It was 65% KY fans.
There were almost no locals there. At least not ones in GT or KY colors.
I think there is a 93% recidivism rate for the average rehab clinic (a three week stay). But he stayed 5 months so that has to give him much higher chance at staying clean.
I was talking to Bud Peterson and he was telling me that when he was 40 years old, Kansas State had a alumni versus current team scrimmage and he suited up. He separated his shoulder and his wife was ready to kill him. Thought that was hilarious!
Ilovetheoption: I don't want to derail the thread and I know you are a UVA guy, but I thought Mendenhal was a good hire at the time. His guys manhandled PJs guys (maybe that's because they were 25 years old+) when he was at BYU.
Against GT this year his offense looked like Chan Gailey's with...
Was the '76 UGAg team ranked like 5th and lost to #1 Pitt in the Sugar Bowl with Ray Goof at qb against Tony Dorsett? Might have the years and players mixed up.
Buck Belue tells the story of when Pepper came to his house on a recruiting visit he had a woman (not his wife) in the car waiting outside the house. Bucks mother said she wouldn't allow her son to play for a guy like that.
I think there were bunches of stories of him bringing women (not his wife) on recruiting trips. And some off color stuff in the locker room. Anyway, I think he cleaned up his act after GT and toned everything down. Just my perception
Fridgen said that the electronics "shockingly" did not work in the GT coaches box in the 1st qu if I remember right. So GT was playing blind and that's why we got off to such a slow start.
Thanks! Is it fair to say that we were able to cut those running plays (in the last 10 minutes of the game) down to 2-3 yards per run from 6-7 yards per run earlier in the game because we were selling out to stop the run and weren't as concerned with Eason's ability to hurt us passing? Whereas...
I am a bit worried about our lb's and DL. They got pushed around a fair amount by the dwags. Hope they hit the weight room in a big way this offseason. It will hurt losing Gamble and Davis
