Kel Johnson hits a walkoff dinger. 4-2 good guys in 12.
  2. UNC

Free baseball. We need this one badly.
  3. UNC

That depends on the sport. If it were basketball, we would rename Georgia Tech after that coach. If it's baseball, where we have many advantages, including the HOPE scholarship and boatloads of local talent, that's not the case. Especially considering his record in the NCAA Tournament.
  4. Miami

Miami scores 4 runs against Maine tonight. Maine had a team ERA of 4.71 coming into the game.
  5. Oklahoma

1-2-3 in the 9th for the 2-0 win. Just the kind of pitching performance we needed after this weekend.
  6. Oklahoma

    Niiice strikeout.
  7. Oklahoma

Here's Boyd's Worlds NCAA run expectancy table (post BBcor bats, but before the new balls): Sacrifice bunting almost never puts you in a better position than you were in before. And when you have batters at the plate who get onto base more than 40% (!) of the time, it's statistically stupid...
  8. Oklahoma

There is never a reason to have a player batting .390 (Austin) or .430 (Wade) sac bunt in the 5th inning. Period.

I hate it. They had Wilhite (try) to sac bunt, who has an OBP of .451. Bailey had an OBP of .479. These guys are hitters -let them swing. Even if Bailey GDPs, you still get a run.
  10. Oklahoma

Clutch strikeout there with 2 on.
  11. Oklahoma

Here's Hall's record at GT, using a running 4 year win average: I've been a big GT baseball fan since I was at Tech ('04-'09), but don't really hold out much hope. Our program seems to be in a pretty steady trend, particularly with regard to the postseason.
  12. Miami

Pitching injuries seem to be a theme lately. Either we have really bad luck or it's something the staff is doing. Based on the way we can't throw strikes, I'm guessing it could be the latter.
  13. Miami

Gorst had surgery after his sophomore year.
  14. Miami

We lose the rubber match, 17-7 final. Miami scores 32 runs against us, more than they had scored for the entire season. We manage to throw 5 wild pitches, walk 26 batters, and plunk another 10 on the series.
  15. Miami

What in the world does Miami's talent have to do with the 25 walks and 10 HBPs we've issued this weekend?
