I took it as a sign they were going for it on 4th down. Then they didn’t. They were very conservative, this and the not trying to do anything at the end of the first half. Ultimately our aggression and it’s success and their playing it safe cost them the game.
I was right behind the ref. He reached into his pocket to pull the flag and then stopped. It was definitely movement and he saw it but opted to not make a call. Not sure of his motives but I have my cynical theories.
They may fall back but they were a historical top 10 program before coach K and likely will be afterwards. But we can hope. I suspect it will be similar to the step back that UNC took after Dean left, short lived.
I won't say which side of the debate I am on but I sure hope the debate does not remain theoretical. I want to know if/where we are ranked after we beat Tennessee.
A little speculation on my part but maybe he also wasn’t 100% sure if it was touched. So going down ensures worst case it would be around the 5 for Miami instead of a touch back if he had run into the end zone.
