  1. Calvin Johnson #2

I think you are forgetting about Don Hudson. When you compare his stats with his contemporaries he is by far the greatest receiver of all time.
  2. Backup QB 4th quarter spring game Midline/3TO

Bostic is playside. #39 or #38, I cannot really read the number, is the pitch back.
  3. Backup QB 4th quarter spring game Midline/3TO

PSAB gets #3 on an option. numbering starts 4i and out. Midline is different. That play was a regular triple. His job was the safety which he did an ok job blocking. Davis was the pitch key(#2) and that was why he was unblocked. The dive key was I think number 99, the man standing up just...
  4. summer fun...make a dream team per coach

Why is Claytor starting at RT under Johnson? He didn't even start on the teams he played on. Barrick(sp?) was a much better lineman and he played RT not to mention Sellers who actually started above him at LT.
  5. 2014 Offense Prediction: Return of the Midline Lead Option

I just went back and looked at that option in (#61). A thing of beauty. That whole Miami game was pretty much awesome. It took a couple of drives to get going but after that it was full speed ahead:)
  6. 2014 Offense Prediction: Return of the Midline Lead Option

Your right. I went back and looked. There was no mesh at all. I think I was looking more at TB than where ZL hands and arms were. Sorry about that.
  7. 2014 Offense Prediction: Return of the Midline Lead Option

As for 45, I agree it is a normal option but it appears he misreads his dive key. One of the first rules you learn as an option QB is you never pitch off the dive key. You get someone, i.e. the pitch back, killed doing that. The QB following the dive back on a misread is pretty normal QB...
  8. Anthony Allen's first game at 6pm today

If you go back far enough it was 3 downs to get 5 yards. That was long before the first forward pass.
  9. 2014 Offense Prediction: Return of the Midline Lead Option

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the answer to Safeties and LBs blitzing the A gap is to run rocket not to shorten splits. You shorten your splits and it screws up the whole system.
  10. Introduce yourself

Hi everyone. I guess I would be considered a Yankee by most of you. I live in Wisconsin and was born in Pennsylvania. I was always huge college and high school football fan. My high school ran the wishbone and I became an entrenched fan of option football, much to my dads disgust. My...
  11. Offensive Scheme Q&A Thread

Perhaps I'm projecting... but I think CPJ came to the realization that perhaps he added too many things to the offense last year, and possibly several years prior, which led directly to the poor play of the offense and offensive line in particular. It is true that the added formations and...
  12. Offensive Scheme Q&A Thread

Thanks for the reply. I didn't necessarily mean to single you out, as I have seen others on here bring up the formation before. Thanks for helping me understand where you're coming from.
  13. Offensive Scheme Q&A Thread

Hi, my first post here. I would like to know what causes people to be infatuated with the diamond formation? It is a compressed formation that is as limited in its passing as the wishbone. Note I'm not talking about the Ski gun but the actual diamond formation. I'm not trying to get into an...
