We need key to start being more of a hardass. I get why Collins wants to be all diplomatic and player friendly. We need a bad cop to hold people accountable for this nonsense.
I think we need to pony up the money to get better assistant coaching. Many of us were skeptical when Collins essentially rolled over most of his Temple staff. Part of that was due to budgeting.
A proper ST coordinator and new DC would be a nice start.
Sam Pittman made Ark bust open the check...
I largely agree. But some of this is fundamental technique - whiffing / missing tackles, seeing the receiver in your zone and not reacting, poor body position / hand-use in coverage, not filling your gap. I can tolerate losing “weight room” or “talent” plays. But that wasn’t the extent of it
I don’t think there is a single game left on the schedule that we have zero chance of winning. ND is definitely better than us, but they haven’t necessarily blown out some of the mediocre / bad acc teams they’ve played (Duke, UL).
The rest of the schedule is a great opportunity for our young...
Transitive property means nothing in CFB. I am not going to say that we would beat UNC or ND b/c our prior wins (FSU, UL) did or played them close.
Recognize every team has flaws and growth opportunities, and our’s were highly exploited by the best team in football. People here need to chill...
Did you ever consider Clemson might be better than last year? We looked like crap today, but I don’t think this is revealing of us as a program. We are a better football team and program than we were 365 days ago. Sometimes these things multiply each other - like playing mostly freshman and...
Sorry about the webvan investment. I would encourage you to watch the national media - nobody discusses the citadel loss. It’s about building for a better future. I look at coaches like Scott Scatterfield - probably a better Xs & Os guys than CGC - I don’t see the same positivity as I see around CGC
People who don’t control their own narrative sulk in losses like our’s to the citadel. CGC writes his own narrative. That doesn’t excuse some sloppy football or the lack of coaching against SU 3 weeks ago. It just means the narrative continues to be about growth and promise - nobody of influence...
Aside from Clemson, I think every other game on our schedule depends on QB and LB/DB play. I think our OL & DL play has been pretty solid this year.
Even with small DTs and some guys banged up - I thought our DL did a decent job setting the edge, penetrating the backfield, and pressuring the...
Any team who plays sloppy defense is our best bet. Below are some thoughts based on conference stat rankings - this should be somewhat discounted b/c we played a formidable OOC opponents in UCF when pretty much everyone else played a FCS opponent that artificially inflates their stats.
Duke is...
Marco Coleman should be a Broyles candidate - I think last night’s sack total = half of LY’s total. It’s been a while since I’ve seen us get this much pressure with DLmen.
This guy needs to stop patting people for
10 yard penalties. Are u kidding me? When is that commendable?
UVA had 1 penalty against a superior opponent in Clemson yesterday. That’s superior coaching. In no scenario are we going to win with poor coaching.
I would love Tulane and Vandy - that’s the ACC’s legacy identity - elite southern universities in cool cities.
WVU accomplishes nothing for me - it’s just another former Big East school invited b/c we’re just trying to win the arms race.
Im ambivalent on UCF - a commuter school, but they have...

Interesting article. Key takeaways:
Essentially all of UCF's top CBs either opted out or injured
Little depth at DT - opt outs...
Why can't people just be happy about being a part of the national narrative? That tends to correlate with recruiting success. Why does this have to turn into a CPJ vs. CGC debate?
I liked CPJ, but do his avid fans really think we were on a sustainable / auspicious path - #50 recruiting classes...
I was very encouraged by everything besides the penalties and sloppy special teams play.
FSU has 4 DLmen that will be R1-3 draft picks. We started a true freshman right tackle and QB. They both played well.
Sims had 2 bad INTs, but he got better as the game went on and unlocked an...
