I was looking around in the portal today and Texas A&M has 25 players leaving in the portal. That is crazy. Comparatively, we are losing 8 players so far.
If we can pick up King and White jr. That would be great pickups.
Have you been paying attention to this board? There's been a lot of people very unsure of these hires. And this place is calmer than others (i.e Twitter, other GT forums)
It makes me kinda wish we didn't have to replace our AD and head coach in the same year. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with Key, but it will be a a whole different scenario if we weren't forced to bend to the donors.
It’s just a credibility/reputation hurt. Plus if he was purposely fed bad information, it’s also a trust issue with his sources for the future. And as a journalist, those two things are basically everything.
Whoever is responsible for the DL needs to be looked at for consideration of keeping as well, was a much improved squad this year. In fact, most of the defensive staff I would be cool with keeping.
The biggest struggle regardless of who we hired is getting out of debt. Even if we start winning, i dont see butts filling seats. Not on key, more just our terrible alumni base.
So for all this discussion, There is a lot to like with both potential hires. To me, our future success is not on either coach, but on the support from the hill and the administration. Get them in line to give whoever the coach is the best chance to be successful.
They've thrown their support for Brent Key, so if Brent Key doesn't get it, then posters fear they will look elsewhere. Not gonna happen IMO, but thats what some people think.
One thing to keep in mind with Deion, we could probably get a fantastic staff alongside him. He’s not in it for the money, and the administration is committed to spending more money in general. There’s a lot of potential there if played right.
I would also love McGee tho
