I watched the Wisconsin game last night and I actually came away impressed with Barnett and Kerwin Bell. Yalls running game is a problem but the drops killed you guys. On D, we match up pretty well with our DBs as a clear strength. If we are close to as effective as Wisconsin was in defending...
Ibeeballin may help some folx with this, but collins/thacker/et al were in Goldenboy and Elliot's head. There is nothing to be done yet about the mismatches along the front, but that was a well coached, well called game.
Also those are good defensive numbers and "sec talent" plays other "sec...

TBH, I love these guys. Truly unique, recruiting is better, but our offense may look like the little giants until we get some depth on the OL.
I think we agree. Our difference in opinion may just be that I assume Duke will not surpass their current level of success without significantly more resources -- money and fan support -- since my experience with Duke alums has been that they do not care about football.
Nothing prevents Duke from investing more in football, and I did not say they will not succeed. I said that we will pass them. They could spend more, but as you implied, Tech could spend more than planned too. AI2020 will bring more spending in the short term and even if they match or beat us...
Agree that there is potential, but jaquon weighs 210. Looking forward to lots of early down blitzing and hoping we have enough in the secondary to compensate.
We will have better players than them by next year. They are peaking with resources allocated. We will only improve. In three years, We will be on par with Miami for talent and within range of the dwags.
Pnode said read option is the base play in the offense. If they have to respect all 11 and play assignments then RPO and play action in the pass build ofg it, and power and zone in the run.
Davis was a huge pickup
RPO off a LB is a lot like midline off a DT; quick hitting.
CPJ is the expert on a lot of this stuff. The disrespect for him and his offense from our fans is bizarre. Yall know it's possible to like two things at once right?
This. The biggest difference between a Rookie/A level flame-out and someone who sticks in AA with a shot is command of stuff that moves. The really good ones can bend everything they throw to where they want it, so they never have to deal with the middle of the plate.
And not to overcook it...
I didn't play at exactly this level, but caught for four years in D1 and yes, this is done. Our SS led the country in hitting and was our closer. It's not ideal but college baseball has the Olerud award for unreal performances by two way players.
e.g. 2018 Olerud finalist Tanner Dodson...
