Atlanta Magazine: How a former Georgia Tech quarterback could break the state’s GOP supermajority

Yes, you're right - race is not the only measurement of diversity... In fact, as a individualist in the classical liberal tradition of Smith, Hume, Ferguson, and the other great Scottish Moralists, I would suggest that it has practically nothing to do with real diversity... Since each human...

Atlanta Magazine: How a former Georgia Tech quarterback could break the state’s GOP supermajority

Can't speak for "Republicans", but I am scared to live around people they don't act and think like me, but in only three specific ways: respect for other people's possessions, respect for the rule of law, and respect for other people's freedom to pursue their own aims... Basically, that means...

    Leonard's Losers...

This is one of the things I still miss in the Fall... I loved listening to Leonard's losers on the AM radio in the car on the way to a game in the 80's...

    Biggest concern for 2015

My biggest concern? The traffic jams that will result from dwag fans turning going all Zombie apocalypse on us after we beat them 48-17 @BDS@HGF...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

Ah, well, yes - we all do have our idioms peculiar to our own generation... Yours is noted... :-) I still don't think Frisbees "flutter" - I think they usually spill off to one side and accelerate towards to ground... Of course, this is exacerbated if the initial launch in other than...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

I dunno... Just based on my recollections (and subsequent anecdotal experience), I would bet on a Frisbee coming down at a high rate of speed, on edge, in a near vertical dive as opposed to "fluttering"... I should ask my Dad (AE '56) - he spent a career at Lockheed/Marietta in aerodynamics...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

Umm, yea - prior to the BEE from GT and MSEE from VT - Bro... I also English... and write... Do you do aerodynamics? A Frisbee, launched horizontally from 100-200 feet AGL (or whatever), will continue to travel horizontally some distance - and as you say, it will, at some point, no longer...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

If it was between the two, had to be 1984 - I was still taking calc and chemistry at DeKalb Community College to get into GT in 1983...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

Yea, I remember what a disaster the seat cushion thing was - covered the North end zone... Even a little cheapo Frisbee would crack a skull when it's coming straight down from over a hundred feet...

Throwing Frisbees off the Upper Deck...

Did we really do this? I was a student in the mid-80's and I have a vague recollection of souvenir Frisbees being passed out and then being hurled at the opposing band at halftime... Seemed funny to a 20 year old me at the time, but now it seems pretty damn dangerous - can you imagine...

    Best Kick/Punt Returner You Remember...

Kevin Tisdale, a walk-on IIRC, was pretty electrifying with the 1990 team... For punts, Charlie Rodgers was the best I remember, with Kelly Rhino a close second - he wasn't fast, but was cat-quick, and could always make the first guy miss... Honorable Mention: Big Play Gary Lee - for the TD...

    GTBob's 1990 VT Game Video...

Big fan of GTBob's Youtube channel - just noticed this one: What's priceless is getting to hear the Big Al Ciraldo... Nothing like it - as great as Wes was and Brian is, Al Ciraldo will always be what GT football sounds like... Are there any archives of old GT football radio broadcasts...

    Why You Don't Like UGA

See the yellow Mustang that is my Avatar? My dad bought that car brand new in 1965 when I was one year old... As long as I can remember, there was the GT alumni association sticker in the rear window... I drove that car on campus when I was a student in the mid-80's... I was born to yell...

    Our Balanced Offense...

Yea, my only reason for making the observation was to take issue with the fools that criticize CPJ and, by extension, our team for being "one dimensional" or not having a "passing game"... OK - fine... We don't have the sort of forward passing game that most other teams employ - but as was...
