He’s a former WR, find other ways to get him involved. He had 10 offensive touches after having 178 yards last week. A better OC doesn’t just give up on their best weapons because the defense takes them out of it. They scheme to get their best players involved. Buster seemingly gave up.
Again, even if you concede that they are simply better than us in the trenches, can our hyped “creative” OC not get Jamal the ball more than 8 times when our backup QB is starting? That doesn’t seem like too much to ask.
I think it’s reasonable to think our coaches would have our team prepared. Whatever the hell we jogged out at STs does not deserve the price of a ticket and it’s been that bad pretty much all year. You can’t look at that performance of that group and simply say “they were better” and that group...
The play of the special teams was absolutely inexcusable. Offense and defense were awful. People saying “oh ND is really good “ or “oh our QB was hurt” are an indicator of why our program is an embarrassment. We played awful and looked awful. We have to do better and this team can do better...
Just to make it a little more interesting for myself, I limited myself to players who played in the 2020s and I still think I turned this team into a CFB Playoff contender. Otherwise, as others have said, there’s not too much strategy as you really can’t go wrong.
Offense: Jahymir Gibbs and...
Thinking a bit more on this, if we use all $10 million towards football, it’s definitely worth it. The fact that all $10 million is eligible for NIL is appealing.
$10 million upfront regardless of turnout is nice, but I really don't know, man. If the series resumed at BDS in 2026, I'd probably be okay with it, but my knee jerk reaction is this kind of stinks. A three year drought from hosting our biggest rival at home? Freshmen this year will only get to...
I agree that the Tebow package with Pyron has gotten predictable, but the whole point of that package is to run QB power. He’s never going to be throwing it around a bunch in that package. For reference, in 2006, Tim Tebow threw the ball more than twice in a game only three times; two blow outs...
I think you are vastly underestimating King. He is a top tier QB in the conference. The chances of him simply losing the starting job as a senior are not likely at all.
If Pyron starts, I hope we can get some of the magic we had in 2016 in Blacksburg when Matthew Jordan started for Justin Thomas and led us to an unexpected victory.
#2 is not a fact. King will most likely be our starter next year. His NFL prospects aren’t good enough to leave early. The only way he doesn’t start for us next year is if he leaves for more money elsewhere, which doesn’t seem likely.
Yes, people forget that when the extreme tempo offenses started to become popular many opposing coaches considered it “bush league”. Saban even commented “do we really want our game to turn into this” after losing to A&M and Manziel. The defense was eventually going to find its counter.
