    ESPN: 2015 Preseason FPI

Interesting off season discussion. But otherwise, we all know this is worthless. What did they have us at last year?

Had Johnson been coaching the Seahawks.....

The Falcons would have done the same thing. How many times did Ryan throw the ball on 3rd and 2 this year. The Patriots would have done it too. I think the ball was on the 3 when Brady threw his last TD pass with about 2 minutes left in the game. The NFL has become ridiculously stupid with...

    Niners Want CPJ?

You don't want the type of players that they have. You wouldn't run the TO with their receivers, and probably not their lineman. However, if you drafted players who would be willing to run the option, it would work. They'd probably be cheaper too. If NFL teams wanted to run the option...

SEC slips in bowls but shouldn't slide far - Jan 5 SEC Blog (ESPN)

"Some people are born on 3rd base and go through life thinking that they hit a triple." -- Barry Switzer. This is exactly the problem with the SEC. It won't change until we have more seasons like 2014 and the talking heads and know-it-alls who regulate the preseason rankings wake up.

    Post Season Musings

Good question. I don't want GT to be a factory. I love the Institute for what it is. Strong academics, engineering centric (although I was a science major), without cupcake courses or majors. GT has a LOT to offer to a player in an education, in building a career and in being part of a...

    Post Season Musings

Seems like only us older guys have the perspective (or perhaps wisdom) of time. Had Golden not forced that fumble against Southern early in the season, the entire 2014 narrative would have changed. As an old mentor once told me, you have to treat every play as if it can mean the game, because...

    Post Season Musings

I have been a tech fan for 40 years. The enjoyment from this season has been, at worst, in the top 3 of all of the time I have been watching tech football. 1990 is at the top for obvious reasons. 2014 is at or better than 1998 and exceeds 2009. 1998 was great in that we ended up with a #9...

Leave the Option to the Helluva Engineers

Watch their offensive line. Apparently, Mississippi State's version of the option is to leave 4 lineman unblocked and 'option' off of all 4. :)

    Academic Achievement

Pretty impressive. Nice of the AJC to acknowledge it. Kids can come to school, play football, graduate and earn a living without having to drive a truck and wear a UGA cap after graduation

Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year List

Wow. He isn't even the coach of the year of his own, pathetic, weak conference. How can he be a finalist for the Dodd Award?

"Getting back to what we do...."

Agreed. The QBs have both done well, the A backs have all done well and the B backs have each done well. Not taking away from any of them, but the common element behind all of that success has been the Oline.

"Getting back to what we do...."

Not taking anything away from JT, as I think he is one of, if not the best QB Johnson has ever had in this offense, but I think we would have done well with Byerly too. Maybe not 10 games, but we would have had a solid year.

Shaq Mason named 1st Team All American by USA Today

Wow. Any opinions on this total miss? 1. We have awesome strength and conditioning programs? 2. Coached up? 3. Right for our system, wrong for the spread? 4. Total miss on the rating system? 5. Other

One of my long held offensive thoughts in question now

In general, I don't think sticking to the run was a mistake. When you have something that is working that well, you have to stick with it until they show you that they can stop it. We ran the ball successfully for almost the entire game. It was the same with UGA. When UGA was firing the...

Do we have to pull for FSU now?

While a win last night would have been awesome, we wouldn't have pulled ahead of anyone as OSU, TCU and Baylor all did what they needed to do. In fact, it would have hurt the conference, by eliminating the ACC from the playoff. As an ACC fan, I find myself pulling for FSU to win the NC as much...
