Yeah, my mistake. I kinda doubt things happened exactly that way at the UGA game, but I have no inside info. I do think our team as a whole might need to learn to play through bumps and bruises a little better, though. I'm tired of seeing players lying down on the field and stopping the game...
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you're implying Gibbs quit on the team. I personally disagree. While I think someone who leaves mid-season could probably be labeled as someone who 'quit on their team', I wouldn't label Gibbs' transfer in-between seasons that way. Obviously...
I agree, and would also add that the literal Nobody we hired as a defensive coordinator is also an upgrade. One might refer to it as an 'addition by subtraction' approach. In all seriousness, though, I wonder if Corey Dennis is still a possibility at QB coach and if the parties are waiting...
I gotta believe there is a non-zero chance that Paris Johnson transfers to Tech to join his father perhaps as a grad transfer. I mean, a guy can dream, right?
The problem is that the branding and marketing don’t need to take a step back, it’s just the other stuff needs to take a step forward. I could agree that Collins needs to focus less on branding and marketing himself, though, and have other staff at Georgia Tech worry about that.
Take the Gibbs situation for example: What if some wealthy Tech alum and business owner offered Gibbs a great NIL deal and he withdrew his name from the portal? I know that's unlikely, but it would certainly be unprecedented. It would be like an NFL player holding out from preseason camp to...
In order for Gibbs to Bama or Gibbs to UT or UGA or whatever to be true at this point in time, wouldn’t tampering have had to be occurring? I mean he just entered the portal today.
I hope the same big donors still trying to convince Tech to buy out Collins are also willing to offer Gibbs a...
One of the most frustrating parts of this is that Gibbs isn’t even waiting to find out who the new offensive coordinator is. I suppose it’s possible whoever that is could try to convince Gibbs to come back to Tech, but it would seem highly unlikely that will happen.
Brent Key left Alabama to come here for the same job. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but with a pay raise, I wouldn't be surprised to see Dennis and his wife - both of whom are Tech alums - make the move from Columbus to Atlanta.
Here is the Wikipedia article on Corey Dennis. He is Urban Meyer's son-in-law and is only 29 years old. Played mostly special teams at Tech under CPJ from 2011 - 2014. Becoming an offensive coordinator at a P5 school at age 29 would be no small task. I might rather see him come here as a...
Do you think they could work it out 2.5 weeks after the UGA game instead so that we can sign a top 25 recruiting class first? (assuming the class stays true to their verbal commitments which is probably a pretty big assumption)
