  1. Spring Practice

Give me my druthers, I'd have rather had Chadwell. Oth, I do think Key will do ok and could be even better. We did well with him in charge and the players are behind him. Now the question is whether we have the talent necessary to win 7. This is, imho, and unanswered question. Right now we have...
  2. Spring Practice

Well … Tech did win 9 games in 2016 and 7 in 2017. Now, if you had picked 2018 as your starting date, no problemo.
  3. Spring Practice

I sorta agree, but I've seen too many teams report so-so PLs and suddenly break out because they found a good/great QB to fully agree. A good QB can lift even a mediocre team; see Nick Ferguson at MSU. And, as I've said, I think we have a potential second Ferguson at Tech in Pyron. My favorite...
  4. College football recruiting expenses by conference (2017-2022)

Agree completely. I would add that recruiting expenses probably vary a lot between years due to the number of slots you have open and the needs of the program. Recently, many schools (including Tech?) have started a more rigorous form of "roster management" to keep their number of slots...
  5. Mascot Competition Champion - BUZZ

I might add the Freddie used to do that many times a season to get an out at first. At 6'5', 230 to boot.
  6. Spring Practice

I have it on my quote board in my office: There never was anything by the wit of man so well-devised or so sure established which in continuance of time hath not been corrupted. - Introduction to the Book of Common Prayer, 1549 Truer words were never writ.
  7. NIL, Transfers, and Stratospheric Salaries. What Is the Future of GT Football and College Football in General?

Well, yes, if Congress actually passes a law. But I don't think anybody actually wants that. If the threat of Congressional action is there, then the interested parties will have a strong incentive to take action themselves, solely to keep Kong out of college sports. Now, if the parties are...
  8. NIL, Transfers, and Stratospheric Salaries. What Is the Future of GT Football and College Football in General?

I think a blind man can see where this is going: Congress will step in. I also think that faced with that the big conferences will either fold (my guess) or separate from the NCAA and go their way. The consequences of the later - no NCAA sanctioned bowls or championship games, etc., etc. - will...
  9. Wreck Talk Interviews

As I keep saying, he's another Nick Ferguson. Hope the coaches see that and respond accordingly.
  10. Spring Practice

I might add that both are the proverbial "diamonds in the rough" that often end up starting for Tech after they get on the practice field. Good to see that the recruiting staff is actually, you know, looking at the film.
