We aren’t teaching the same technique. We aren’t clogging gaps something we did a nice job of last year letting our linebackers play freely. It’s why Thomas was such a player for us. Instead we are trying to beat guys one on one and that never bodes well for Tech Dlinemen
Haynes King is a top 3 QB in the ACC and I said earlier this off season our WRs would be difference makers. Every guy at WR is electric these guys by the end of the year will be something special to watch
It’s quite incredible a team that gets beat 56-0 somehow looked better on defense than a team that lost by 5 and held that same team to 1-11 on 3rd downs.
Very true anyone who watched FSU and LSU can see that one move that the defense struggles to counter can result in a disastrous 2nd half. All FSU did was go to a two back look and used a lead blocker with the power run game and it opened up their entire offense.
That can be said across college football. Plummer isn’t Drake Maye but he isn’t terrible. How many points does Tennessee score against UVA if Milton hits every guy he threw to yesterday? Or how many points could we have scored without a dropped pass from Rutherford down the sideline and a fumble...
Bad for the whole game is a little exaggerated. Louisville was 1-11 on 3rd downs and 0-7 in the first half with only 160 yards of total offense. We also held them in the red zone twice making them settle for FGs. Yes in the 2nd half the defense was non existent
Thacker is a fine DC. Guy has put some stellar game plans together. We scored 28 or more points only twice last year and were dead last in the NCAA in red zone scoring but still won 5 games. Let’s not throw him under the bus with one bad half in the first game of the season.
Oh and his defense...
Haynes King can be a great qb. Anyone on this board who thinks he cost us the game should continue posting in the volleyball forum. He can make every throw on the field and has great mobility. I look forward to watching him grow with these receivers
King beating out Pyron says more about King than it does Pyron. It’s also fits the narrative that we are going to stress teams through the air. I am excited to see what the kid can do in a stable environment that isn’t switching qbs after every mistake.
There is great talent at that position not even including former 4 star James Blackstrain.
What this group would have looked like with Leo Blackburn. Guy fits a Faulkner TE/WR to a T. Wish we could experience one full year with Leo I feel for the kid
