  1. Megatron is back!!!!!

I suppose that yes, it is. Could be worse and root for both. Oh, despair and misery.
  2. UGA game might have gotten easier

News bulletin: two college kids caught with pot. Next thing you know they will discover, oh, I don't know, beer maybe? Then the world will spin off its axis on the discovery that this long dreaded plague of excess has breached our college campuses, and we are shamed that it first raised its...
  3. Calling Justin Thomas a Bad Passer is Lazy and Inaccurate

Well, it could be, but this is Chad Morris's offense. He ran it in Texas HS and in his first college stop (escapes me) and then brought it to Clemson, with different QBs all the while. I know he did say before he left Clemson that Watson was the best recruit he had -- practically lived with the...
  4. Calling Justin Thomas a Bad Passer is Lazy and Inaccurate

I am sure it is the difference in the offenses, but Clemson's spread wants the ball out of the QB's hands within a count of two. Those are short passes, to be sure, and obviously Watson has more time going deep. But they want no sacks, and generally limit the route tree to two options .. and...
  5. What is the best scheme for a Tech defense?

I suppose it would be to run a 4-3-5 but then some spoilsport might object.
  6. Georgia Southern Postgame

I wonder why that is so? (Butker.) Logic tells me that if a right-footed commie kicker kicks from the right hash, it factors in the hook.
  7. Brad Stewart

No. I don't know enough about either of them to know. I am saying Paul Johnson thinks so, and that partly accounts for Jeune being targeted even though others might have been open. Johnson has been open that he expects his WRs to make plays. In short, even in tight coverage, go get it.
  8. Brad Stewart

I don't think Johnson has ever been a spread-the-ball-around coach. Pick your best, insist he make a play.
  9. A little from last night's radio show

Well, you know another way of looking at it is that Georgia Tech has a freshman who cracked the starting lineup. That of course plays against the narrative that Paul Johnson can't recruit, but there it is.
  10. A little from last night's radio show

    Isn't that Bryan Cook?
  11. Charles Tillman's Open Letter to Megatron

Really very nice and professional. Thanks for posting.
  12. Linebacker play

I think you are right and I made that mistake. Sorry. But even I have to admit that watching Les Miles on the sideline in a two-minute drill would be entertaining.
  13. Linebacker play

Now it is officially funny. I did not know GT needed a head ball coach. Just goes to show what a six hour power outage does. But Les Miles? And people claim engineers have no sense of humor.
  14. Whats wrong???

By golly we should all go out and set our hair on fire and generally just throw a hissy fit. I confess I did not see the game, as a little thing like a hurricane shut our power off for six hours beginning almost exactly at game time. But from what I am seeing is just hyperbole and angst. So my...
  15. Rivals.com Q&A: Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson

He pretty much says in one spoken paragraph what others have been saying, often into the wind who seriously -- and sincerely, I think -- want to believe that all that is required to go double digits every year is the GT "brand" and the "right coach" who will then magically recruit the guys who...
  16. A few notes from last night's show

I saw a piece this week, forget where, but schools have no control over start time if it the game is televised, particularly by ESPN. They schedule them throughout the day for maximum commercial exposure and where once upon a time start times were known weeks or months in advance, now it is...
  17. Bleacher Report Top 5 Coaches on Hot Seat

At today's market rates, you are probably right. And the problem with $5 million head men is that he requires OC and DC at about $1.3 million, and pretty soon you're talking real money.
  18. Bleacher Report Top 5 Coaches on Hot Seat

Nah. A mega stretch is that guys actually believe it.
  19. Bleacher Report Top 5 Coaches on Hot Seat

What did Paul Johnson say about the most popular player on the team being the backup QB? The most popular coach on the team is the one losing somewhere else.
  20. A few notes from last night's show

I know what you mean. I want no optimism around my house either, and it's an even better thing that we didn't play FSU last year, when it actually had a team. Now, that would have been a massacre.
