"...any level of enhanced educational benefits they deem appropriate." "School" for S-As is already a joke at many colleges - this just does away with any semblance of academic progress requirements.
This is what I thought would happen.
And for those saying FSU had a better resume than Bama...
The following Colley final ranking excerpt is not intended to justify the committee’s selections for the CFP, although it could. I’m simply trying to show how a ranking that doesn‘t use any other...
In another thread's discussion about our "worst loss, I presented lots of data showing BG was a better team than BC. But some would argue otherwise regardless of what all sorts of data says.
Let’s see…
I copy//paste selection criteria from the CFP website that they state is used to select teams. It includes "unavailability of key players"
You ask where it came from.
I present the link.
You then double down, saying it isn’t part of the criteria.
You then concede its existence, but...
Thanks for the Overview, but that isn't the detail. https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2016/10/24/selection-committee-protocol
Open the "Principles" section. That's where I copied the info from.
F$U is my hometown team and I'd like nothing more than to see them get into the playoffs over Bama and uga. I'm simply pointing out published criteria that the playoff committee can use to justify putting in Bama over FSU. Personally, I think "undefeated" should trump the other factors, but...
Yes. Quoted from the CFP website (emphasis mine):
"...when comparing teams with similar records and pedigree...The selection committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
Conference championships won,
Strength of schedule...
We need to leak a fake news story about how our NIL stash is up to $100M. We'd get the attention of every 5-star in the country. For a few minutes. :ROFLMAO:
I think the current broken transfer process will remain broken until one of two things happen.
The NCAA wakes up and has the stones to reinstate their sit-out-a-year rule. Seems unlikely.
As long as the Bamas, ugas, Ohio States, etc. of the football world can work within the current system to...
The NCAA could fix the portal problem without resorting to complex rules. Just reinstate the old sit-out-a-year rule. It was fixed (mostly), then they broke it.
I don't believe collectives are against NCAA rules. The current NCAA guidance is that schools can interact with collectives, give them a suite at their stadium, and refer S-As to them. What is off-limits is getting involved in negotiations, or the school/AA using NIL as an inducement in...
It appears that even Gailey would have had one of the highest-paid staffs in football (Tenuta @ $400k). Then we hired CPJ and told him we didn't have the money to hire better assistants. This was before we were paying Hewitt not to coach. What happened to our spend philosophy? I mean, D-Rad...
I think the issue isn't too specific - it's that some fans tend to put the BG loss in a tier of its own compared to our other losses, when in fact BG's season record indicates otherwise. It was indeed shocking at the time we played them.
To illustrate - to which team below is our worst loss...
