Doesn't surprise me on butker. Any team carrying 2 kickers usually shop one around as most teams don't carry 2 through camp. Easier to shop a rookie than someone with ganos contract. If they don't get any bites they probably put him on the practice squad.
Hmm for our branding in three words
Precision, Power, Progress.
At Georgia tech we approach all things with precision to do the job accurately, the power to get the job done, and the will to progress boldy into a better tommorrow.
Production didn't really drop last year, we had FAR fewer drives that we have in the past. Part of that was ironically our defense didn't do a lot of breaking and the only footrace game we had we had what 4 drives stall in the redzone against UNC.
Basically last year we were extremely explosive...
The route is common place but they way we run it still has the short side step drop and throw to create a throwing lane rather than a 3 step drop back like the west coast offense uses.
I think Matt Ryan and Calvin johnson and Demarius Thomas in 2007 ( calvin likely stays in this scenario) might have won a NC. That year was crazy. This is even with a NIX offense. Chan probably leaves back to the NFL after that anyway and we may have been forced to hire a new coach anywya. It is...
Yep. Chan had another problem brewing that would have tanked us VERY hard under him. Chan would have had to deal with APR and he was already having trouble with his players academics without that. We would have missed out on Johnson had we not got him in 2008. He would have ended up either at...
This is actually not a bad way to engage the run and shoot concepts they are running out of those formations on passing downs. Usually the ball is out to quick to get a sack ( the strength of the run and shoot is its 3 step and fire concepts. I would however only do it on long yardage situations.
Just because you don't hear about them until they commit, does not mean they aren't high up on the board.
Stewart was definitely a late addition but that was because at the time we were full on receivers.
I don't think our offensive scheme necessarily hurts the defense ( CPJ had extremely strong defenses at Georgia Southern). I do think though we have a few intangible things that might be limiting our recruiting where it didn't in the past on defense that coincide with CPJ starting. APR didn't...
Defense is a strange beast in general in these games. Scheme and Talent go hand in hand, it also is nearly impossible to truly gauge different era's against each other due to changing offensive trends.
Gailey's years were the years the ACC was actually viewed as a defensive conference. Most...
I agree with these however i would add one more category arm accuracy is almost more important than throw power in our offense. Take Tevin for example. While he might not have the strength to get the ball where it needed to be fast, he often knew exactly where to place it to give our guys the...
