That pretty much matches up with what I thought he may want, as in valuing signs of support needed for Tech to win a MNC. The best part of your info though us that the big money donors were on CPJs side.
He looked in fine spirits after the game when I congratulated him on the win, so I was surprised to see he hadn't played at all, he certainly hadn't seemed like someone who had been "benched" or anything. It makes far more sense to learn that he had some kind of small injury they didn't want to...
FSU has played so many close games because the ACC is the best conference in college football and they have played the toughest schedule.
Of course, I am not allowed to make such a claim because it does not fit the "obvious SEC superiority" meme. However, both views have the same amount of...
Thanks a ton to @dtm1997 for use of his tickets.
Seemed like a group of recruits or more likely a specific team of high school or AAU kids were a bit below me but I can't say who they were. Isma'il Muhammad was sitting right behind the Tech bench, he seems to have really lost weight or slimmed...
Odd though that he injured himself by means of his own legs. Basically the same with Snoddy. I was starting to really be concerned about the playing field. Possibly it had been cold enough the night or two before to basically freeze the dirt or somehow change the feel of the sod.
The noon start had the biggest impact on ticket sales. Especially since it was not determined until the week of the game. Their were far fewer Clemson fans at the game in the nosebleeds than usual. I think attendance would have been at or over 50K if it had been a night game, based on prior...
I loved Mitchell revealing how CBG actually has been talking to them about the UGA game since the preseason with the whole "we don't lose to them, we don't do that!" kind of talk. That cracked me up as I had listened to CBG's weekly press conference before the game then pregame radio interview...
Watson going out had very little to do with the fact that they got a drubbing by Tech. I listed a slew of reasons in another thread to think this way. They were outschemed, outcoached, out-efforted, out "team chemistry-ed" and Tech brought out the sledge hammer (literally) on defense.
A...
PJ had a terrible game this year as well. Slipping my mind actually which one it was . . . maybe GSU. Oh yes, definitely, I remember in the stands actually wanting him pulled because he was getting burnt repeatedly. He has both looked better in general but also I think he has been put in much...
He would have if he had called the timeouts earlier. It is the fact he did with one second left that shows to my thinking that he goofed. That and the fact he has a track record of poor clock and timeout management.
I for one am not really worried too much about CPJ turning this season into a springboard.
One, he has put in 7 years here and passed on offers to leave already for more money after some early success.
Two, he has never shown a tendency to assume greener pastures elsewhere at any of his prior...
I dunno, this seems to me to be a bit of "out of sight, out of mind." I think they are too close to favor one or the other quite as strongly as you are doing here. But after such a great game by Davis I can see the draw to do so.
It was fun listening to Roddy cheering on Synjyn to get the 4th straight 100 yd game. I love him as color commentator, he has the exact right attitude of having no shame in being a homer and rooting on the Tech players. Love that in a college broadcast team!
However, you also have to take into account game situation and score relative to what kind of play-calling CPJ does in the red zone CPJ. I think given our D's performance CPJ was far more willing to take FGs then set up to go for it on 4th downs as he may have in other game situations. With a...
It was terrible game management because he ended up calling a time out with 1 second left.
If he had called no timeouts then it could be chalked up to what you suggest, just wanting to get to the locker room. However, down 2 scores and with Tech getting the ball to start the second half...
