Totally agree but this thing is always snarky and condescending. I’m laughing this one off and hoping not to see similar sentiment in legitimate write ups going forward.
Well, one team is on there because they got whacked by UGA, another is on there because they got whacked by Clemson and a third is on there for getting whacked by Bama.... if that's the criteria, they will likely have to expand the list.
Great points / post. I agree with most all of it and the two bolded comments are the two biggest "ifs" we've got this year... can Sims stay healthy, and are CGC issues growing pains or inability? We don't get to answer either one for a while...
I am seeing progress at each individual position...
Agree completely. “Vertical” pitch is always dumb in my opinion. Why throw it at a guy running at you? As you say.... Pitch to get outside the tackles, OK.
I agree... I think we made a $3M decision at the end of last season to ride out 12 months, for better or for worse. Short of scandal or gross negligence (off the field;)), CGC is the head man through November.
:ROFLMAO:
I watched a lot of football this weekend but I missed their game.... The box score earlier in the thread said they threw it 36 times, so it sounds like we're safe....
Yeah, I would not say "remarkable" either, but I did see a much sharper performance. He was making good short throws and getting the ball out a lot quicker (and he had to last night). Clemson's D was on him pretty quickly most of the night and he still stood in and delivered some good throws...
What's interesting is I don't recall too many of those third downs as particularly long. One thing I do think we did a nice job with was making positive yards on 2nd down and staying out of 3rd and long. Seemed like we were in several 2nd and long situations that we got positive yards to make...
That’s what I recall too... his arm was hit on the “dropped” pick six.
On the goal line, I thought he was hit also while trying to throw it over everybody. Replay looked like he was actually targeting a receiver in between 3-4 defenders. He was certainly hurried, but scary decision.
I think you’re right...don’t know about the dabo / Collins distain either... but the reality is this:
We are projected (rightly or wrongly) to be a 3 win team. If that holds or gets worse, Clemson needs to look firmly in control. Running up score? Maybe, but “struggling” against a 3 win team...
This year it’s punt team. Previous seasons the FG / PAT team. I remember watching the blocked / missed kicks in week 1 and thinking, that’s an easy thing to clean up. Turns out our blocking and our kickers were just really bad.
I’m worried the same thing here. Is it any easy thing to clean up...
My wife, who never comments on anything related to sports and usually is not in front of the TV with me, started the game by stating that she really liked Tech’s uniforms. I should’ve known what was in store...
