One was unacceptable, but on the other one Pitt substituted and the Center judge didn't stay over the ball. I about threw the remote through the TV and Collins was pissed too.

We had 2 timeouts and rather than giving them a touchdown or at the least an automatic field goal, you punt. I didn't like it, but with where we were, I think Collins had to. You hope the defense gets them 3 & out and then you have 3 minutes to score twice.

I would like to see us go after Tom Murphy (one of the Mariners catchers) or Jason Castro. Langeliers and Contreras are probably both a year or two away, so we just need a stop gap.

I'm with you on struggling early. We are old in the position player department, but it looks like 2 freshmen will be starting with about 3 or 4 others seeing some playing time or maybe playing in platoons. It takes pitchers longer to get adjusted, so I think that we'll look a lot like FSU last...

We lost both exhibition games last year and one was to a community college. I don't put any stock into these games. I just look at how the freshmen performed.

If we can't sign Cole, then I want to sign both Odorizzi and Bumgarner. Neither one of them are true aces anymore, but both are solid #2's and we need more depth.

Well if we were trying a bunch of different combinations throughout the game, turnovers are to be expected. Guys can't really get into a rhythm when they rotate in new players. I agree that the lack of rebounding is a big concern though.

Tech wins on a walk off homer by Coquillard. Dude also pitched a scoreless top of the 12. These freshmen have been very impressive in the 2 scrimmage games. I'm excited to see how they grow this year.

I like this lineup, it's very balanced. 2 switch hitters, 3 lefties and 3 righties. I'm going to guess that Collin Hall is at DH today as well, but I'm sure that everyone will get to play and get some at bats.

I'm going to bump this thread to give both King and Wells an atta-boy today. Wells had some deep kickoffs for touchbacks and that field goal King made was pure. That thing would have been good from 55. Maybe this game can be a turning point for both guys and allow them to focus on one job.

Everything I've read about Arnold points to him being a good pitcher for us. He has the makeup that you want for a starter. It wouldn't surprise me to see him start the weekday games this year. We have a lot of talented freshman pitchers which is a nice change.

Roedig started out of necessity towards the end of the year and pitched great in the ACC Championship game. Bartnicki came out of the pen. He was mostly effective, but had some games where he lost his control which bloated his ERA. I expect him to be more consistent this year.
