Are there any "severely anti-tech" coaches out there? Of course there are plenty that are fans of other schools, but any that would steer a kid away from Tech even to the kid's detriment?

I remember a play from several years ago where Milton ran alongside of Tyler Marcodes as Marcodes returned a pick six. Tyler is very athletic and he was going top speed down the east sideline....FWIR Milton was passing him running basically sideways and backwards. It was impressive.

Plus that section of the stadium was in really bad shape....bordering on unsafe if I remember correctly. It was never full and seldom even occupied except when we played Auburn, Tennessee or the dwags.

The problem with Koonin's approach is that the Hawks do not have to contend with their main "zero sum" rival occupying the same geographic and media market. Tech's biggest (at least in spirit) rival already dominates the marketplace. It is harder to build a fanbase without an alabama type run...

They can watch themselves enjoying an OV to Tech and all the perks and trappings of being recruited....and at the very end they can watch themselves sign with the dream school they have followed since they were a kid. Putting the "reality" in VR.

Trust me as a 40 year Tech fan, I understand, but it seems the media's memory is very short. In fact, I think 20 years is ancient history to them. As someone who suffered through the 1-9-1 and 1-10 seasons, I can understand your frustration . I remember how thrilled I was with 6-5 in 1982.
