Okay. I can get behind that. It is a challenge, no doubt. Finding kids who are real athletes and also real students is a challenge. Our coaches see it as an advantage though. That’s why they’re coaching and I’m not lol
UNC looked sharp last year. That QB they have is damn good. We’ll see if Mack can do something with UNC. VT looked improved last year but they’ll be breaking in a new D coordinator. I’m not sure who all they return on D though.
Pitt, ehhhh. I wouldn’t lump them up there with the other two...
Definitely will need amazing coordinators. I’m content with the D coaches.
Patenaude will have this year to show some improvement. He didn’t have much to work with last year, but I’m still not convinced he’s such a good offensive mind. We’ll see. I like to think Collins knows he’ll need to...
Well yeah lol I wasn’t expecting a natty by year 3 either. But we coul
Man this is also a forum and a thread created out of boredom. Sorry my input was too simple for you.
I wish people would stop using then academics as an excuse. I get it. Tech has to take calculus and all that stuff other programs don’t. But our coaches don’t see it as an obstacle. We shouldn’t either. We’ll never grow as a program until we get over ourselves and believe we can be better
That’s a fair expectation. I could definitely use a few more wins in the coming years lol.
I can see why a lot of people dislike him. I’ll like him a lot more if he starts delivering on the field. You are right though. There is so much change now. But the man is doing EVERYTHING possible to...
I had my moments where I cringed and disliked him last year as well. But I’ll be damn if the man can’t recruit his *** off and sell the program. Winning more games would cure all woes and opinions, and I’m sure Collins knows this far better than you or me.
There’s still a lot left to be...
I was trying to just point out how things were different. Not really harping on Clemson other than how young and inexperienced Dabo was at the time.
But I’m not happy with just competing for ACC titles and I doubt our coaches and players are either. Obviously we have to win those first to go...
Right and we’ve heard this over and over. Collins seems to be liked a little more than CPJ and can And will probably get a little more support.
Is it possible to accomplish this turnaround without shelling out big money? The coaches seem to strive to do things the Tech way. We don’t have to be...
I was watching Clemson/ GT from 2009. It was surreal watching that game. I remember watching that game my senior year in high school. The program had come off a stellar first year with CPJ. The Clemson game was a whiteout. Hey and guess what? TECH FANS SHOWED UP AND PACKED THE PLACE. The stands...
Sims. But I’m also keeping an eye on Gleason. There could be significant improvements for James Graham, but I don’t see it tbh. He can be utilized elsewhere.
Gibbs. I shouldn’t have to go into detail.
Jared Ivey. Not much has been said about him but I fell in love with his highlights. He...
I spent a few hours in midtown a few weeks ago. Went to the Waffle House at Tech square. Walked the mile to the College Football Hall of Fame. The whole time soaking in the city Collins is trying to sell. There is a LOT to sell, and he knows it.
I realize it’s a long way off but if he can get...
It is a problem. Even for me, it’s a problem. I’ve been a tech fan most of my life, and I’ve been so accustomed to losing games and “preparing for the worst” coupled with a defeatist fan base is unknowingly crippling to the program.
I gotta say, when Collins came in talking about recruiting at...
