  1. Duke post game

I disagree. Wake is going to punish them. They are not that good and Wake is a pretty good team. They (Duke) will come down off that high and Wake will be ready for them and let them have tobacco road style.
  2. Duke post game

A friend made the observation that, in his opinion, this team has all the earmarks of one that has something (God only knows what) going on behind the scene that could be having an effect on team morale and lack of leadership that is so evident. Unlike most on this board, I am becoming...
  3. Don't be suprised...

Yep. That's another one. He was highly rated tight end coming out of high school and did well at the Capstone. I stand corrected there have been some transfers who have done well and a lot that did not.
  4. State of program

I am afraid the coaching pool for this year is rather shallow and the list of big name schools wanting to make a splash is lengthy starting with Florida, Tennessee, Nebraska and God only knows who else.
  5. Don't be suprised...

I forgot all about him. That guy had real talent. I did not know he went to Ohio State. Best wishes to him.
  6. Don't be suprised...

I am kind of surprised by that. I though MM was a talented back with speed and nice balance. Maybe not quite the bruiser that some of our B backs have been but a very good player for us.
  7. Don't be suprised...

It might be best if some of them did leave, if they are not willing to work hard at improving. I cannot think of any transfers that went on to any measure of greatness after leaving Tech. Maybe Vad?
  8. State of program

Maybe that is what I meant. We never showed up. One thing is for sure, there is very little evidence of team leadership or sound coaching of defensive fundamentals that I can see. If there is not a drastic change in attitudes from the top down in the space of one week, UGA will absolutely run...
  9. State of program

Coach Donnan was a good coach. Probably not the best financial adviser one could use but definitely a good recruiter and good coach.
  10. State of program

I find the idea of our team "quitting" to be disturbing. I know that we played poorly but I would hope that our players have enough pride in themselves to keep playing hard. I don't know. They were definitely lacking focus on the job at hand. Seems like a few of them were actually "dancing"...
  11. State of program

Spurrier always said that while at Florida, Grossman was his most talented quarterback, not the best mind you, the most talented. Marshall is possibly the best pure runner of all the quarterbacks Coach Johnson has had but is a long way from being the best.
  12. Dec 2

On the contrary, this team does not deserve to go to a bowl of any kind. The players and the coaches need to do some heartfelt reflection on how poorly prepared they were today and if they are willing and able to make the adjustments and sacrifices required to beat UGA or at the very least be...
  13. Beat uga or not

Well, we just lost to a Duke team that had lost 6 in a row with one of those being to Army. Seems pretty obvious how it is going to go. It could get really bad if we do not have any pride which seems lacking on this team just now. Three or four touchdowns is a good guess.
  14. Duke prediction thread

Good point. But the chances of this Duke team that lost to Army running the table is remote. I just don't think they are quite as good as they have been in recent years under Coach Cut. That said, Duke should never be underestimated by any Georgia Tech team because history suggests that they...
  15. College football field of the year.

Why not? They steal everything else.
  16. Duke prediction thread

I am of two minds about this: On the one hand, I see a Duke team that is reeling from a loss to Army, has no chance at bowl eligibility, and has played poorly for much of the season. They did play well in beating Northwestern and at one time were 4-0 after the UNC game but it was downhill...
  17. Special Teams as we end year. BOTH WAYS COVERAGE AND RETURNS

This fits Miami. The thing Tennessee did fits them. It does not fit us. Our players would hopefully see this for what it is: a high school type motivational tool that they have grown past. We want to be focused, and team first above all else.
  18. How good are we?

Very impressive stats. Too bad it will be meaningless when you play Clemson.
  19. Quality Losses

UGA was "focused" Saturday night and got run slap dab over by the Plainsmen.
  20. How good are we?

Miami is good, no doubt about it but watching us against them I did not get the sense of our team being manhandled the way it was with Clemson. Nonetheless, an ACC championship match up between Miami and Clemson would be fun to watch. Even better would be an Orange Bowl match up with UGA...
