Look, I'm annoyed as much as anyone that we dropped so many bowl spots but he has to advertise it because GT is currently $800,000 in the hole for this game (required to buy 8,000 lower level tickets at $100 each). It doesn't help GT for him to pile on and admit the game sounds unappealing...
Agreed everything I've been hearing is that there are no major donors supporting Whisenhunt. He likely got a friendly interview because they on fruends. Lets move on to more serious candidates
All of those except nursing fit into existing colleges (Kinesiology, Forensics, Nutrition to College of Sciences; Finance to College of Business; Broadcasting and Journalism to College of Liberal Sciences). Sure there's a lot of additions that would have to be made. But that doesn't mean it's...
I think there are reasons well beyond athletics to expand majors at GT. Athletics would just also get a boost.
I'm pretty sure some of these majors would be pretty popular at a world-renowned school known for its dedication to science, progress, and research: Kinesiology, Nursing, Nutrition...
This is a fair point. But it also goes to show that the argument that the BOR is still anti-Tech because it gave uga engineering is false.
I am unaware of any modern evidence that the BOR wants to prevent GT from expanding majors. It is possible given your point that this evidence doesnt affect...
Well its a fact that this is evidence that the issue is on GT Admin and not the BOR. Whether you or anyone else puts stock in this evidence is fair game. All I can say is I think at a minimum 2 of the 3 sources are highly reliable. And the fact that they all corroboate each other should be noted...
This is a valid point, but we probably have the best QB talent we've had in a LONG time as of today (assuming Yates signs). Lucas, Graham, and Yates is a lot of work with and you have some versatility for 3+ year before you'd have to have a successful recruit replace those guys.
This discussion began on the Potential Head Coach Hires thread but I thought it would be smart to move it to this related thread. @UgaBlows @takethepoints
The discussion was that one major reason GT struggles in recruiting is because of the limited majors - and that those majors are all STEM...
Why not add non junk majors that fit GT but still would help athletics across the board?
Kinesiology, Nursing, Nutrition, Forensics, Broadcasting, Journalism, Fianance (new major instead of a business concentration)?
