Surly this is TIC.
Ya'll, it was a boring game. There was no fan interest in playing Alcorn State. The AD was at the game. If the AD has any sense, which I think he does, Tech will be looking for better opponents in the future for the opener. He saw the crowd. He knows the opponent presented no...
OK guys, we (myself included) need to get out of this four day funk. Alcorn State is over. It wasn't a fun game and we have mentally slipped back to December 2017. If we beat South Florida, which we should, you guys will be fine.
Cheesy move by Nike. Where was their support when all of this started? It's just a corporate gimmick and people will fall for it. They're in the business for making $$$. Wonder what their factory workers think about all of this.
There are several other schools in the same boat as GT.
A sample of games that didn't sell out:
Alabama - Louisville
Auburn - Washington (GT vs Tennessee drew a larger crowd)
Stanford - San Diego State
School presidents and ADs have got to work out an agreement with the television networks...
I just hope we don't have to count on this type of play during a big game. The ball looked like it was thrown up for grabs. Marshall has got to improve.
Two things disappointed me yesterday. Marshall's lack of improvement in his passing game and lack of pressure we put on the Alcorn St. quarterback on pass plays. Sounds like Barnett can give us some trouble. Hopefully, RS freshman Kaleb Oliver will have another good game at DB.
Has anyone ever seen us go into the defensive formation we played in the 3 quarter. Around the 7 minute mark, GT called time out. Alcorn State had a third and 15 yards to go. Apparently Coach Woody set up the defense with 3 down linemen, a combination of linebackers and DBs lined up almost...
Sorry, but some of you guys need to stop. You're Georgia damn Tech fans. You're a special breed. Anybody can be a dwag or bama fan. Ask the managers at any Wal-Mart or Dollar General Store. The Tech fan base is small, but loyal, tough and is about to get stronger. You're nobody's little brother...
Sorry to dig this older thread back out, but again Ken Sugiura (am I spelling his name right?) has done a great job covering GT is summer. Here's another great article: https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/first-game-georgia-tech-legends-remember-their-debuts/U5DRjDTUVplCQcocA6Q6EI/
55 to 21. We call off the dogs and let some walk-on get some PT. Alcorn State gets some garbage points in the 4th quarter. I'm going to stay to the end to watch all of the players.
It's been this way for years. They have to cater to the dwags because of their huge fan base. Sports radio is fragile. Next time you're in the metro Atlanta area move your radio dial to 790, sit back and laugh.
