  1. USF Postgame #USFvsGT

I don't dispute it, I just wonder how that could be? The guys we had were not exactly peanut butter. I thought.
  2. 300+ Yard Passer

That would require, what, 38 completions?
  3. So...what is the pro-style spread?

I missed it ever since Orwin Smith graduated. Danged if it looked like he had all that speed, but I have been wrong before. It was beautiful.
  4. So...what is the pro-style spread?

The trouble of course with using "NFL style" offenses and defenses is what we learned from the Al Groh experience. While there was no question he was an outstanding technician, it was also true he was trying to implement a complex NFL defense with 20-year-olds he had 20 hours a week. In the pros...
  5. So...what is the pro-style spread?

What we saw Saturday was more Oklahoma! musical than Oklahoma offense. Collins needs to man up, pick a QB, drop the hydra-headed monster and take his licks. So far criticism has been pretty muted, and I think fair. But please: no more passes by passers who can't pass.
  6. Clemson Postgame

I like almost all of this post, but color me, if you will, skeptical that Oliver could throw the ball into the ocean from a rowboat. Yes, it is gross exaggeration, but we have had time to see Oliver throw the ball, under pressure or no, and he hasn't. (Even the "pressure" excuse wears thin...
  7. Clemson Postgame

What in the wide, wide world of sports are you talking about? The post did not compare anybody. He questioned decisions, period. Goodness, nobody brought the previous coach or coaches into it. A lot of us do. I remember a lot of questions about the previous regime, and nobody was comparing the...
  8. Clemson Postgame

Swlling would have had to be a ballet dancer to even attempt a cutback on the pick. There are all kinds of things about mass and velocity and objects in motion, but he was a 20-pound man hurtling fullspeed down the sideline while another 200-pound man also at full speed, took the angle that at...
  9. Clemson Postgame

Well said, though I liked and still like the option but it has to be well run and yes, we were prompted to expect "something" else with a generically titled "pro style" offense meaning more passing. But what we saw was what we had: QBs who can run the ball, so there we were. Maybe Graham is the...
  10. Clemson Postgame

That short lease on Muschamp at South Carolina is now officially a choke chain. The guy had and has a long-standing reputation as a coach who could not build a program, but could coach within a program. He got hired anyway. No sooner had the final whistle blew than a -star RB commitment walked away.
  11. dabo vs geof

Why would that surprise anybody? Shoot, some of those "ratemyprofessor" online scores are out of sight but ...? Meaning what?
  12. Another Finebaum 'splain away SEC debacle

That explains Georgia's Fosbury Flop in the bowl game. As an addendum, by the way, UNC's win ought to rattle things a bit in the Coastal, paired with VT's continued slide. For some reason I can't, though I should, get excited with Virginia. I just can't.
  13. Another Finebaum 'splain away SEC debacle

Can't wait to see what the SEC/Alabama mouthpiece has to say. All this and Oregon should have held on to beat Auburn. Tennessee lost to Georgia State -- is Butch Jones available? -- Missouri to Wyoming, South Carolina to North Carolina -- it seems clear Mack is back and UNC talent was never the...
  14. Clemson Postgame

My Clemson friend, who actually knows a bit about football, was on the sideline Thursday night, said Tech "has a long way to go in almost every phase," but thought Graham was quite good at QB, though suspect passing -- isn't every Georgia Tech quarterback? -- , but there "is something dynamic...
  15. dabo vs geof

It is kind of wasted energy trying to judge a coach from one game, or project a season from that game. We got beat badly in a game we should have lost badly, he is still looking for a QB, and right now the "new" offense looks confused and disorganized. We will see what we see.
  16. dabo vs geof

I believe it is his first year at a P5 school.
  17. dabo vs geof

That guy Morris was not a bad hire, either.
  18. Settle the F down

Actually, they had the original starting QB, so he must have been pretty good.
