  1. ND @ Rusty C

I've actually heard a lot of pitchers that have said that they threw great in the bullpen before the game, but stunk it up, while others said they weren't feeling it in warmups but had the outing of their life. And a lot of those are post game interviews with guys in the majors, who should know...
  2. ND @ Rusty C

It is a Good result. But I was hoping for a GREAT result this weekend, which was sweeping ND at home after winning 3/4 against LOU on the road and UGA at home midweek. Alas, I'll have to settle for good. GREAT Tech teams of the past would not have lost a game this weekend.
  3. ND @ Rusty C

I'd say that CT has it covered, but what else is new?
  4. ND @ Rusty C

Not concerned about most of those pitchers working again this weekend. I wanted the win yesterday.
  5. ND @ Rusty C

ND coach did what we should have done. Put Vail in, he was getting outs, left him in. Hall put Gibson in, he got 3 K's, put Bartnicki in the next inning. If your kids are pitching well, let it ride.
  6. Atlanta Braves News

The Braves have a young team. There will be many ups and downs. I wouldn't be surprised if they took a step back from last year. I think they over-performed last year.
  7. ND @ Rusty C

    In ACC play, that is.
  8. ND @ Rusty C

Random stat, but after Curry's first 3 hitters tonight, Tech pitching had given up 5 BB, 2H, and 5 ER without getting an out. In stark contrast to the first 26 innings in Louisville.
  9. ND @ Rusty C

When Tech has a bullpen arm that's getting outs, ride him (i.e. Gibson tonight).
  10. ND @ Rusty C

I don't blame Hall for this one. But, I would have left Curry in for the 5th (unless he's hurt), and would have left Gibson in to start the 6th.
  11. ND @ Rusty C

I still expect us to win the series. But we now have no room for error to do so.
  12. ND @ Rusty C

Typical GT baseball these days. Have an opportunity to make a statement and make the wrong statement.

At this point, not going 3-0 vs ND will be a disappointment, You can't go 3-1 (and should be 4-0) against D1Baseball.com #4 team's in the country and then lose a game to Notre Dame at home.
  14. UGA - COFH Part 1

Perhaps that's due to a lesson learned during the final game at Miami. With Tech down by a significant margin (I don't recall the score at the time), Radcliffe hit a slow roller down the 3rd base line in foul territory. He did not run down to first base. The ball rolled into fair territory...

If I'm not mistaken, I saw English walking back to the dugout in the 8th when we were at bat with PC Howell. Howell has previously stated that it depends on how English feels in the bullpen as to whether he can pitch or not. So perhaps he tried warming up in the 8th and didn't feel right. So...

And in 2 of those 3 ACC losses, we had the lead in the 9th. So it could be a LOT better than it is! Not complaining about where we are though.

Replying to your post after having 6 bourbons in the wake of attending Tech's series clinching victory in Bourbon country! So I probably won't remember posting this either... If I'm not mistaken, Wiley (or Nick) noted, perhaps on tonight's broadcast, that Baron had 44 K's in 89 AB's last year...

Listened to today's WREK broadcast after the game (yes, sadly I listen to the broadcasts after games that I've attended, especially if Wiley is on the mic, to get the complete picture that is not always apparent when you're at the game), and Nick Scherer made the comment pre-game that Friday...

Was a great performance from all, especially X tonight. With Connor and Brant up next, I'm feeling a little greedy as well.

I think NC State is saying the same thing about the Tech - Louisville game.
