Who is Key most likely to hire as S & C coach? It was interesting to hear during his press conference just how much of an emphasis he puts on the S & C of the mental and physical conditioning that takes place in the weight room. He also said that it will start once the student athletes return...
Years down the road from now…I feel sorry for the boy who has to come to the door to ask his daughter out on a date. Imagine the cross examination that will take place and the beat down that will follow if he crosses him, his wife, or his daughter. Lol he is an INTENSE individual.
Key will make the players on our roster better off for having been around him. “With every fiber in his body” he will give it everything he has to make GT football a better program.
It will be interesting to see how much longer it takes for him to fill out the rest of the coaching staff. Says he wants the right people and that’s very important. The down side is time is a ticking. Early signing and recruiting.
Has Nathan Brock formally from Ohio state always been on staff until the tech as an office of line coach? I saw him standing next to one of the recruits in a picture states of Georgia tech offensive line
Guys some of this seems silly. Waffle House is a GT Alum business. There is no reason to avoid it now more than there was to increase visiting it because Collins promoted it. I will keep going and enjoying it. The company even loaned us their plan to travel. Why punish them? Why let Collins live...
I agree with scrapping or improving the design of that play call. However how much of the elephant can Key really eat at once while learning the ropes/demands as HC. I think I may leave the D staff in tack and alone or go on a deep dive with Thacker and see if he wants to change up a coach or...
I would assume Key has already presented a short list during the interview(s) of who he could bring in, who he would retain, and who he would shift to a new position or terminate. I am also very interested in what GT offered or offers Key as a lump sum salary pool budget for the support staff...
His character was revealed when he was faced with adversity. The other name and leverage the NRL money in the promise of the donors money to garner the necessary funds in order for Key to be able to hire who needs for his support staff.
You know the vultures are circling GT dorms and players friends are lighting up their phones with calls and texts offering big NIL deals. Especially with all the new HC hires and here we sit at GT with no answers known publicly for a search that “officially” started in September yet we knew...
Going to be interesting to see who rides this out. Wonder if Blackburn will hang around. Nate was a frequent target and very productive player for us this year.
If he stays and doesn’t follow Key to his next stop if he gets a HC position somewhere. However it’s easy to posture, from a players perspective, but when it really comes down to giving up a degree from a school like GT to gamble that to start all over with a new school with so many unknowns...
Typical coach/candidate speech. For example Key told reporters the same things just before he came here as Assistant Head Coach and OL. They are very crafty in parsing their words using “now” and entertaining offers through their agents so they can say that “I haven’t spoken to _____ about a job.”
That and he is intentionally trying to shake the bushes to get rebuttals and gain inside intelligence from a “source closer to Batt” and the interview process/status to see who will talk (without being named as the source).
