Finch and Godhigh talk about Justin Thomas

And in my day it was also bad. We had no face masks so we aimed ourselves and then lowered our head immediately before contact. Consequently, the top of our headgear was used as an impact weapon. Not to do so could be very expensive to the face and teeth. Yeah, the new rules are better.

    Looking Ahead - Offensive Line

Thanks for the link, SB. I read the article with interest since I am in my mid seventies and am constantly injuring myself at the fitness facility doing the same weight and aerobic workouts that I did with no problem just a few years ago. This sentence in the article really caught my eye...

    Looking Ahead - Offensive Line

IIRC, Harry Truman made an honest living as a haberdasher before he allowed himself to be sucked into politics.

    Will it never end!

Muschamp is a muschump* IMHO. He needs to go in order for Florida to get back on top. Maybe Visor Boy would/could come back home once again. *new rapper word. Means whatever you think it should mean. :cautious:

    Swinney signs 8 year contract.

Clemson is a good place to coach, with great fans and very little to hold the team back. Congrats to Dabo.

    2014 Schedule

I'm not one to count his chickens before they hatch, but I would be very disappointed with anything less than 8-4. I see a fair chance for double-digits in the win column, especially considering our home and away schedule. It's time to make lots of good things happen.

    Looking Ahead - Offensive Line

I was concerned about losing so much experience on our OL due to graduation of solid players. Your post brought me optimism. Yeah, inexperience is always a big concern for any team. At least we shouldn't be alone in that regard...it happens every year to every team.

    Looking Ahead - Offensive Line

Boomer, you're the man. Now I can wipe the sweat off my brow after thinking about having a small QB behind center. Thanks for another great analysis.

Finch and Godhigh talk about Justin Thomas

Rodney: My days go way back to when we were coached to either hold our jerseys or to lock our hands near our chest. I remember when the change was made and IIRC, it was for pretty much the reason cited by 33 Jacket. Mack: I have long wondered why teams went to short sleeves. Thanks for...

    Bobinski interview with Brandon....

Rodney: Thanks for expanding on your previous post and I apologize for sidetracking the thread. I don't know that are in disagreement...it does not appear that we are, except perhaps the bit about blocking...but that is just me (I consider blocking and tackling as fundamental, whether you are a...

How do we feel about our wide receivers?

I feel pretty good about our receivers. Most can block, most can run, some can even catch. Smelter impresses; he's good at all of it. I hope Autry plays healthy all year and we are able to get the ball to him deep. Waller seems to be getting the hang of it and may have a breakout year. Dunno...

    Bobinski interview with Brandon....

I'll just jump in here to say that IMHO we are making too much out of this notion of "changing our offense to suit the material". The fact is that our "material" has been recruited over several years to fit a particular style of offense. Not every recruit has fit the system just right, but that...

Finch and Godhigh talk about Justin Thomas

Good article, Eric. Thanks. While I hate to see an athlete of Vad's potential leave early, it couldn't have happened at a more fortified position. Whatever people want to say about our recruiting, rarely have I seen more depth of talent at Tech than we presently have at QB...especially if we...

Vad Lee Interview on 790 the Zone

Yeah, there is little question that the interviewers had one single agenda and that was to trash CPJ as much as Vad would let them. IMHO, young Vad did a good job of deflecting most of their crap, which speaks well of his maturity level. On the matter of passing vs. running, I believe CPJ is of...

Welcome to the best Tech site yet, young fella. 1972...Stone Age...ha! What does that make me (1960)? A Neanderthal? (Please don't answer that:muted:.)

Super post, Boomer. Thanks. Exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping to see from this board and so far I haven't been disappointed. :)

How do we fix this nightmare....

Right. Also recognize that Pepper had been a successful head coach before coming back to be subsequently fired. My point, if any, is that the grass always seems greener on the other side. All this talk about Goose and Ken doesn't amount to squat. What we really need is some incredible luck...

How do we fix this nightmare....

Not a problem, Nate. He's already here and he has head coaching experience at an academic school, plus he is originally from the Atlanta area. On the downside, we've had tech players who went on to become our head coaches. Bill Fulcher left after two years. Pepper Rogers was fired. Former local...

    Question on Player Smarts?

:wideyed: Rodney's post ^ makes good sense and would explain a lot. Recall when Bobby Ross was very close to hanging it up at Tech and move on. The players called a private meeting and aired out their laundry. Next thing you know, we don't lose anymore games that season and finish as national...
