Defense will have some highs, but our inexperience in the secondary makes us vulnerable. Absent a credible passing attack, good teams will put 8 or 9 in the box and make it difficult to sustain drives. Bowl eligibility would exceed my expectations.
Heart Of Dallas Bowl is played outdoors - the damn Cotton Bowl - the day after Christmas. Nobody goes. The last one lost money for everybody because the weather was so bad, not even friends and family showed up. I'll hope for something in Florida, thank you.....
I hope TStan is just giving Hall an opportunity to walk away with dignity next year. “I got your back now, but if 19’s like 18, Danny, you gotta take a hike.”
Cheese, there really were 'good old days', am I right? As a rat, I sat on bleachers below the east stands. As an upperclassman, I moved up to the lower deck then the upper deck. Great seats for a game, except for the sun. But we always brought in some liquid refreshment.
Texas has an incredible assortment of special license plates - nine pages worth on the txdot website. GT and UGa are both available. I've seen ours while driving around Houston, but no Dwag plates. Apparently WalMart and MickeyDs don't pay well enough.
I took drownproofing my freshman year (71-72). Coach Plaxico told us the point was to teach us not to panic if we ended up in the water unexpectedly or were hurt or cramped up while swimming. Worked for me; I haven't drowned yet.
I just don't like wasting outs on sac bunts, unless the runner you move to 3b or scoring position is for a win, a tie, or a 2-run lead in the 7th inning or later. The run expectation tables I've looked at say you have a better chance of scoring at least one run from a runner on first with no...
Well, I see the majority vote is, 'wear it loud, wear it proud'. I can do that - I went to Georgia Tech. However, I have to make an exception for that damn polo. Somehow it seems to have gotten smaller in the past 8-10 years. Ahem.
The advice of my fellow Swarmers is requested for an important life decision. I have a Russell hat, polo, and hoodie of 2008-2010 vintage (blue piping on the hat & hoodie).
You know what the seasoned qb can do, but so does the opposition. The great athlete is not as predictable. He plants uncertainty in the oppositions mind. That makes them hesitate, which opens more opportunities for us.
Had someone travelling from Atl to Texas stop by the bookstore and get me one of the new white polos. Nice merchandise - Adidas makes good stuff! runs a little bigger than Adidas golf shirts though. I'm looking forward to a gold polo when they're available for mail order again.
Must admit I thought the money would be more, but our deal is similar to USF's so let's enjoy the new swag. I like Adidas apparel, so I hope their GT stuff is available soon.
Adidas has done a good job with both traditional football unis (Nebraska) and a more modern look (da U), so I'm...
Right on target. Jackson and Enberg were both marvelous at their job - distinctive always, eloquent at times, but they never thought of themselves as the event viewers tuned in for. Miss 'em both.
I work in an oil refinery. In this morning’s Operations meeting, one of the area managers mentioned he was installing some specialized chokers today. Couldn’t keep from laughing; now we know what Dwag players do in the offseason.
