How are Texas Tech, Miami, and UCLA in front of us?? I don't care about early season rankings, but that's still really stupid to have them ranked above us.
He's who I thought of as well to finish the game. I would think that he could, but I also don't know if Hall is willing to push him just yet because of the surgery. I think we'll see Smith or Mannelly try to finish this one.
I love the combination of Chapman, Maxwell, and Bartnicki at the end of the game. All three of them have power stuff and can really shut the door. Just need Maxwell to pound the zone because he is almost unhittable. Crawford was fantastic and I think the rotation is very solid, but it will be...
Yeah, I'm not concerned at all. Even if we lose tomorrow I'm not going to be worried. To me, it looks like everyone is rusty right now because a lot of guys really haven't thrown or seen a competitive pitch in over a year. That's tough to bounce back from, so I expect to see a lot of improvement...
Hurter looked rusty (which is hard to blame him for), but he was still very good working out of trouble and that's a great sign. Bartnicki and Chapman were both fantastic and the offense is still the good old Tech offense. Very nice to get a win on opening day!
Yes, Parada is a big bat. Holland is the better catcher, but Parada is the better hitter. It sounds as though Holland has really come along with bat in the offseason.
