  1. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

Godsey was not a very good OC. I'd imagine Bill O'Brien getting some looks this year if the Texans continue to suck.
  2. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

It's harder to get a coach to come work for you if you're known as the school that fires a guy after starting 1-2. We don't really have the clout to overcome bad press like that.
  3. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

My issue with Satterfield is the spread again. He's also never had a P5 job so it's a risky hire, which I don't think we should go for now. We had nothing to lose post Chan so we could roll the dice, but if we have another losing season (which is really the only way I see Paul Johnson leaving)...
  4. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

I just don't think any of these wide open spread guys will work out in the Southeast. Clemson is really the only one who's done it since the Percy Harvin years at UF. Even my Auburn friends are fed up with Gus's ineptitude unless he has absolute world class players. Mullen was never really any...
  5. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

I don't really know who we should look at, but I really don't think going for an air raid guy like the OKSt or WVU guy is what we need. We can see how much trouble Fedora has running it, and my personal belief is that it just isn't going to work outside of the Big12 (Washington State being the...
  6. Let's compare coaches, just for fun !

I would be turned off as a fan if we hired Kiffin. He hasn't done anything wrong rules wise as far as I know, but he doesn't seem like he's completely on the level. He might be, but I don't want to be the team that finds out. The worst possible outcome would be for GT Football to become GT...
  7. How to be an 8 win Team

We lose or struggle with our OOC matchups, even against less than great P5 or non P5 teams, somewhat regularly. Not even counting bowls. Scheduling isn't going to change anything. Kansas, BYU, Middle Tennessee State, USF. You could even throw UT in there last year for how bad their season went...
  8. GT vs Pitt Postgame

Was the fake punt a called play or was it based on a read of how Pitt lined up. I thought our kicking units were coached to do the fake if they saw a certain alignment for a few years now.
  9. The most disappointing stat from yesterday was...attendance.

It was a hot as hell Saturday noon game on a holiday weekend against an opponent that Tech shouldn't be scheduling in the first place. With things like AirBnB, Uber, and discount carriers it's almost as cheap for us to take a vacation somewhere nice for the long weekend than travel to Atlanta...
  10. Camp is over...

TK was injured so he didn't get to practice much. Coach said he'll be on scout team.
  11. Camp is over...

BJS had much better stats as a true freshman than Curry as a redshirt freshman. I don't even really remember any plays of Curry standing out to me, but I remember BJS when he got in games. I don't know what the posters who are so high on him are seeing.
  12. Simplify

I think it's referring to the defense's keys Much like the offense, you use keys to figure out what you are supposed to do presnap. Simple keys means you diagnose the play fast and make a decision and just go hit something.
  13. What are your measures for success with the new defense?

It's going to be tough to improve a defense where you lost the entire starting secondary and where you are implementing a defense that is a polar opposite to the scheme you have been recruiting to for the past 5 years. I will consider our guys wrapping up when they tackle and being able to take...
  14. Georgie paying players?

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2013/04/03/ncaa-football-auburn-violations-gene-chizik/2051041/ https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2677700-cheat-or-go-home-inside-the-dysfunctional-hell-of-becoming-a-cfb-coach Scroll down to the part about Terry Bowden paying players at Auburn to...
  15. Georgie paying players?

There's pretty good evidence that Cam Newton was offered at least $180,000 in 2010. College football revenue has only gone up since then and so have coaching salaries and the overall economy. I'd be willing to bet the going rate for 5* qbs has risen since then.
  16. Tailgate at wreckfest

This is probably not really targeted at fans like us anyways. We all probably have buddies and family we tailgate with and the food and alcohol we like. If you are casually stopping by for a game or you're in town for the weekend on business or whatever it would be cool to have an easy tailgate...
  17. Georgie paying players?

I 100% believe we have boosters giving $100 handshakes and stuff like that. I don't believe we have boosters dropping serious coin to flip 3* kids from G5 programs.
  18. Georgie paying players?

Most top school's have boosters paying players (bagmen) and it's very hard for the NCAA to do anything because they can't subpoena anyone. A school straight up paying a player is something else (which we are assuming with this tweet) and that's what got Ole Miss in trouble.
  19. More insight into CPJ's role....?

I believe he works with the QBs somewhat. A traditional OC usually doesn't do a whole lot of hands on stuff anyway unless they are also a position coach. They watch film and put together a game plan and delegate to the unit coaches what they want emphasized.
  20. New substance abuse policy at Georgia Tech

When this originally came up I was very much against it because I didn't like the idea of letting kids slide because "thats just how it is these days". However, after reading the article if they are saying they consulted with experts and professionals about it then it makes me feel better about...
