HUGE SERIES WIN!!!! We desperately needed that and the pitchers were awesome today. Smith was solid and has pitched well over his last 3 outings. Maxwell had a rough first inning, but was dominance after that and Grissom was really good. That was a huge win without our ace.

Exactly. It also seems like Huff is a guy who can't sit and come back out and pitch. He has had several outings this year (including the last 2) where he has pitched a great inning, then CDH brings him back out for the next one and Huff can't find the zone. He just needs to be a 1 inning guy.

I would absolutely take that regional

Every pitcher used tonight but 1 is freshman. Walks and homeruns are unfortunately what you get with freshmen. I will say that Smith was outstanding and his last 2 outings have been really good. Maybe he has regained his form from last year before the season was cut off.

That's really cool that you played with Blackmon! I played against the Wilhites, Hughes, Brandt Stallings, and Brandon Marsh for a few years, but I never played with anybody like Blackmon. I bet he was something to watch in practice.

I know, but this pitching class just seems different. I always love when we go out of state to get guys because those are the ones that typically make impacts right away. Most of the pitchers in this class are from out of state and are all highly ranked in their states which has me really excited.

Don't forget about Carter Daniels, too. The pitching that is coming in next year is scary good.

Well, we beat em at Auburn last year in the last game before the season was cut off. So, we ended their year last year 🙂

I would be very surprised if he isn't the starting SS next year. Dude can absolutely rake and his swing is so pure.

We also have a 4 star in Nate McCollum and another guy who absolutely balled out in high school last year in Jamal Haynes. The slot is going to be the least of our concerns.

Nice win today. Should have won the series, but we played extremely well today and deserved to win. I like the lineup that CDH ran out there, too. We just need Hall to get healthy so we can lengthen the lineup some more. Also, hats off to Siegel and Brown. They have been pitching great lately...

We literally did all of those things. Not a lot, but we did them.

I wouldn't count Spieth out either. He's one guy that could get really hot and string together some birdies and avoid bogeys.

Having Hall out is really hurting right now. He was starting to hit too before he got hurt and that's when the offense was clicking on all cylinders.

This is what I was thinking too. It's a lot like FSU 2 years ago. They had a ton of freshmen, played up and down all year, and were just barely able to sneak into the tournament. Then, they got hot and went to Omaha. I hope we can replicate that 🙂

Adrianza played for the Twins the last couple of years. Solid bench player that we got on a minor league deal and he hit like .450 in spring. He's a switch hitter too and a versatile defender.
