And in theory I agree with what you are saying. But the Clemson game I used as an example of how our Defense was on the field a lot and the Offense was 3 and out most of the game and the defense only gave up 26 points. The response I got was "Clemson let up off the gas." I can tell you from...
What is your opinion on Total Offense and Total Defense? Is this a useless or misleading stat?
Currently we are 25th in Total Defense and 111th in Total Offense.
I think more so the Pitt was a winnable game in comparison to the Miami game. We didn't even give ourselves a chance on offense in the Miami game. Pitt game was dumb luck.
I'm not taking up for our Defense and saying its great. I'm taking up for our Defense and saying its not as bad as certain people suggest. That's all. Its obvious we need improvement on both sides.
But don't you see that the PPD is misleading? We have less possessions than everyone else you are looking at/comparing. And typically we have less turnovers and go for it on 4th and short in situations other teams would not. The offense we run in nature scores more on possessions than a...
Clemson Game:
Out of 11 total possessions the GT offense scored 1 time.
Out of 12 total possessions the Clemson offense scored 4 times. A field goal in the second half.
Pretty good defense against the best offensive team on our schedule in a game where our offense was the worst its been in...
28-35 imo.
If the Defense is averaging 19.8 per game they are giving up then I don't think its a lot to ask 28 to 35 on average from the offense. Scoring on 4 to 5 out of 6 or 7 possessions doesn't qualify a "if we have the best offense in the country" That's averaging and on average that...
