I agree with most comments above, the D is really weak. It has been for most of CPJ's tenure. You hear commentators discuss how tough it is for other teams to prepare for our O because it's hard to simulate it with practice squads. I think those comments contain some truth and our D's inability...

Not really. I just think positive coaching comments about the team or individual players when speaking to the press / public goes much farther toward inspiring better performance. We're not or they're not; both send the same message to the players about his assessment of them.

Sick of hearing they're just not very good. Well coach, you recruited them, you and your guys coach them. If they really can't play at this level, look in the mirror! Tired of hearing CPJ say, it's them and he can't do anything about it.

Right, it is just my opinion on this opinion page. Just saying that 26 players on the roster are listed as AB(2), BB, or QB and 2 DBs work at the AB. Being 7 deep at those 4 offensive back positions uses up so much depth that is needed desperately elsewhere.

CPJ puts all his effort on recruiting for his "unstoppable" offense. The athletes he starts on D are mainly those who can possibly flip to A backs or B backs when needed. He is limited on the numbers he can get so he tries to live by outscoring others. The philosophy just doesn't work in this...
