If they do decide to run more than 68 teams all it would take would be hotel space they could put in a bubble to whatever degree they require. 30 per team is only 2K hotel rooms with single occupancy so I expect Indianapolis could go higher than that if they want to. Or they could split a...
Since I expect attendance to be very limited, I don't think you even need all the big venues for consideration. You could likely run a lot of the games pretty much in nice HS arenas - as long as TV signed off on it. NBA bubble wasn't much more than that.
I expect they want to do it in...
Expect they consider the students a psedu bubble given the restrictions they have on campus. 🤷♂️ The other side is no public ticket sales so no totally outside influences.
Will be interesting to see how they spread them out.
Losing Hughes - the leading scorer in the ACC - is a big nut to overcome without a clear replacement. Especially as you say when someone has to create their own shot.
On our side not sure we have anyone who can really create a shot anywhere near Hughes either. But still not sure the logic...
Nice to see Jose on 2nd Team pre season All ACC
I don't understand all the love for Syracuse (could just be missing something) but the grouping from Syracuse at 6 to Clemson at 10 is pretty tight. Big drop off to VT. Guess the take away is we are in the group that has questions but could move...
The upside is the schedule definitely has a high strength of schedule component. Will have chances to make a splash but less room to muck up against the lower tier.
Not sure if this is the current state of NCAA guidance but this USA Today article says the NCAA "suggests" a 14 day quarantine if there is one positive test in the inner bubble of the team. Good ole NCAA comes up with "suggestions" for guidance at this point :oops...
I can't read the article but I didn't know there was a rule - if one gets it all sit. That seems to be different than the intensive testing and tracking rules for football (at least ACC/SEC versions) that focus on positive tests to sit players/staff. Having said that the contact of a normal BB...
anyone who hasn't been to the NCAA tourney going into year 5 is going to make a hot seat list. Especially an ACC level team.
I have every hope he gets to the tourney this year but being on a list like this isn't surprising.
Amateur hour? you don't think any coach sits anyone for making the same mistakes over and over? OK sure
When your QB turns the ball over 2+ times per game It is pretty easy to see how that is hurting our chances to win
Collins has to figure out how he is going to change his play...
I fully expect Sims knew TOs were bad before he came to GT That is a red herring The question is how to make his play change And it has to change or he won't be successful
So you can simply say oh it's ok just keep playing and I hope you get it or like any other position you take...
Depends on how you think about 2+ TOs per game He had 2 high end TD passes today but also 2 really sloppy TOs that led to 2 easy TDs for them
It isn't just today but a pattern that has to be broken Question is how do you do that
Partially about winning the next game but also about getting rid of the turnovers - at least for this year. Simply playing him and turning a blind eye to sloppy turnovers doesn't make sense either Collins is going to have to figure out how to get the point across This game was a whole lot...
I hope he is reluctant to play those 2 together. Not sure they fit in today's game. Middle would be full of centers on offense and any ACC coach is going to pick and roll/move those 2 all over the court with smaller players.
CJP has been devoted to a 2 post lineup throughout his tenure...
I think that is true in the middle to upper middle ranges of college BB. His pay rate says the only place he is going is a top program and IMHO they ain't putting up with that personality. They have better options. He could go to Illinois or Oregon State any day of the week but they don't...
If he was totally happy with his current situation, his name would never show up in coaching searches. Outside of an occasional mention, he controls whether he wants to be considered and thus mentioned by search teams. IMHO the fact he is mentioned so much means he is open and potentially at...
I expect the number of fans will be determined on a state by state basis - just like football now. That it is inside will reduce it and it may be zero in some places. But teams should be able to be tested and compete as a separate issue from how many fans are in the stands
