  1. $125M Capital Campaign Launch

The 2020 plan is sports wide and not just football. It also includes the now completed football locker room, a new Mens and Women's basketball locker room, and upgrades to Russ Chandler. The Edge Building is also not football specific but for all athletes (correct me if I'm being on this). I...
  2. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

We should be signing two QBs because our depth there next year is Johnson, Oliver, and R-Fr Graham. We are one injury/transfer from a really bad situation. The disaster 2016 class is going to bite us bad this coming year.
  3. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

Yeah, if a guy is huge and athletic he isn't coming to GT and that's just the reality of the situation. Guys like that are some of the rarest players in football and get scooped up by the Bamas and FSUs of the world.
  4. $125M Capital Campaign Launch

In addition to what everyone has said, it's easier to pitch a new building to big boosters. Unless you are really super deep into CFB you probably don't know what the heck a shadow staff is or why recruiting staff is important. You can make an elevator pitch for building renovations.
  5. Paul Johnson time frame.

My argument is mostly about how we've lost games the past two years rather than the fact we lost, and I'm someone that thinks Paul Johnson should stay especially if we win our bowl. If we went out and played good, clean, fundamental ball and lost to the better team then so be it. But we've lost...
  6. Up and coming receivers

He is athletic as far as being stupid strong and he is quick enough for his size, but I didn't think anyone thought he was fast. ESPN had his 40 time listed as a 4.8 (I don't believe he's that slow, but he clearly was never a burner). If people thought he was fast they must have been watching...
  7. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

That back end and OLB lineup could be very, very good. How do you feel BJS played this year when he was in? Would you feel good if he was the starter or is it based more on the upside of his athleticism? The DL also looks good, but highlights the fact that guys like TK and Glanton who look like...
  8. Developing our higher rated recruits.

Most of our higher rated guys (4* on Rivals) have been on DL interestingly enough: JC Lanier, Denzel McCoy, Anthony Williams, Francis Kallon, Jabari Hunt-Days (was a 4* LB but he converted to DL after freshman year), Jordan Woods. I don't think it is a coincidence, I think terrible position...
  9. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

I think I'm on the same page as you are with assessment. In year 1 Woody is doing about the same as Ted was in year 4 and 5. The coaches said they didn't implement the whole system yet and spent a few games and lots of the off-season figuring out who should play where, so I am really optimistic...
  10. All ACC Team Announced

Who would you replace with Renfrow? 472 yards and 1 TD isn't really an award-worthy stat line.
  11. Paul Johnson time frame.

The biggest fish is probably 4* DL Rashad Cheney Jr. but Britton Allen from IMG Academy who was a 4* safety until 2 weeks ago could also be really good for us. The other two are a 3*s one of which has already committed to us and the other is uncommitted, but nearly committed to Iowa a while back.
  12. Talent level and where we place

We have to let the classes finish out. We were 8 and 9 the last two years. Many posters here want more than that, so we donated money to help raise half a million dollars for new recruiting staffers who were hired 8 months ago. We aren't going to see the benefits, if any, until the next cycle...
  13. Paul Johnson time frame.

Signing day is December 19th. If he retired now the class would vanish, if he waited until after signing day we would still retain those kids. Like I said, we have a pretty big weekend this weekend with OVs and I don't know what purpose it serves to keep passing around a rumor. If you...
  14. Paul Johnson time frame.

Is this actually what you heard from somebody who knows something or is it an internet rumor? Signing day is around the corner and we have a big recruiting weekend this weekend and rumors of coach retiring making the rounds online does hurt recruiting. If it's actually something somewhat solid...
  15. Up and coming receivers

I might as well go to Stingtalk if everyone is just going to turn every thread into the same snarky comments about the coach and the offense instead of discussing the actual topic at hand.
  16. Up and coming receivers

Sanders was getting a lot of hype in camp and during his redahred year. Broke a collar bone though so we never saw him. www.ajc.com/sports/college/tech-freshman-adonicas-sanders-popping-eyes-thus-far/wPtAofmFe5wJFqm8hx3HqL/amp.html Dolphus got hurt too this past off season so maybe he'll come...
  17. Paul Johnson time frame.

Yeah, I'm just speculating that's who they get, I don't actually have any insider info. I know he said he's going to stay, but so have 90% of coaches who have left programs. I personally don't think he should take the job yet. With the lawsuits from the basketball side and the $17million in...
  18. Paul Johnson time frame.

I don't think he retires, but if he did this would be the year to find a new coach. There isn't a big market since USC is keeping Helton and none of the other big fish seem to be making moves (Auburn might be the wildcard here, like always, but I think Gus gets another year at least). UNC got...
  19. All ACC Team Announced

Amari Rodgers gets an honorable mention with 525 yards from scrimmage and 4 TDs but none of our backs with better #s do. Okay.
  20. Searcy Put On Blast

Where did this multi million # cone from? 7th round signing bonuses are like $60,000. I'm not sure what his injury settlement was, but NFL minimum salaries are <$500,000 and not guaranteed. You are better off in a lot of ways being a UDFA than a 7th rounder because you can pick where you go but...
