The Mets have definitely outplayed the Braves this weekend, but we've also made a lot of uncharacteristic errors. Snit is also using the bullpen differently because of the 5 games in 4 days and that's hurt a lot too. It seems like when we start making a comeback, the pen gives up some more runs...
I still think we'll be fine. It was going to be extremely tough to win a 5 game series in New York. We need to win today and then we get the Mets for 7 more games all at home. Going 5-2 will be tough, but I think if the Braves can do that they'll win the division.
I just looked through his stats and this is a great pickup! Dude has absolutely raked in his career. He hit .356 last year with 12 home runs and had an extremely high on-base percentage. He was a 4 year starter at Wofford too with one of those years being the Covid year.
I'm curious as to how we use Stanford. On the draft boards I saw he was listed as a pitcher. If he thinks his future is on the mound, we might just use him there.
I was going to make a post-draft predictions thread for starters, but I'll just post mine here.
There is definitely going to be a lot of competition and the main spots will be at Catcher and MIF.
I'm going to say that we'll lineup with an outfield of Lovett, Deleo, and Reid with maybe Prince...
We have a very strong front of the rotation in Fried, Wright, and Strider. Morton has been solid but not up to his usual self. Anderson is really searching right now. It'd probably be a good idea to pick up a starter and send Anderson down so he can work on some things. We also need to do...
An update on the stats from the New England league.
Hill has a .85 ERA and 37 K to only 3 BB. McGuire has a 1.92 ERA and 42 K in 28 innings. Carwile has been great too with a 3.37 ERA and 36 K to 11 BB. Finateri has been solid with a mid 4 ERA.
On the offensive side, I saw that Lovett has a...
I said everyone but Marquis. I could easily see him going, but I think that he could only improve his draft stock and could become a 2nd or 3rd rounder. He would have to bet on himself though.
Compton and Reid weren't drafted. I hate it for those guys, but if they come back, we'll have another strong lineup with DeLeo, those 2, and Romano. Add in the freshmen (Sabathia, Stanford, Diamant) and we'll have another dangerous lineup.
That one really surprises me, but I think he'll be back. He's just a sophomore and could easily go in the first 5 rounds next year if he improves on his command. If he had a similar year to this year, he would still get drafted around the same round and get the same signing bonus imo. He can...
