    Realistic expectations for 2016?

Got to see the schedule first. I thought it was set up great this year to build momentum. Just like in Deformable Bodies or Dynamics classes, I often got the quantity right, but the direction wrong. We built a hell of a lot of momentum, but it was in the wrong direction. Also, the schedule...

Biggest need for 2016 (offense edition)

The way I look at the injuries (and you forgot Summers at WR missing several games and then leaving) is that by the 4th game, JT was having to play mostly with players at the skill positions he had not seen before July: Skov, Marshall, Marshall, MLD, Stewart, Griffin. Or had seen only...

    ProJackets Update

And yet we still only scored 6 points on Wake Forest. Almost as big a mystery as our OL this year.

Same old, same old. This discussion has been going on on Tech boards since the Hive started in the mid 90's. It was going on in the media before the internet in the 60's, 70's and 80's. I remember when Pepper was here that one year it was said out of the AJC's top 25 high school players, only...

    The "missed assignments" issue

I have to disagree about 'clutch'. Yvon Joseph, Cremmins basketball center in the 80's was a much better free throw shooter in the last few minutes than earlier in the game. Godsey was a 4th quarter machine. I remember some discussion when he was playing about how much better his completion...

    The "missed assignments" issue

CPJ's first three or four years, we were playing with a patchwork OL. Walkons, Tight end conversions. Didn't we have one guy go from A Back to OL over the course of a couple of years? But we were pretty solid in the backfield and at WR. At least that's how I remember it. Many, including...

    Strategic Vision...

Strategic vision? Simple: Keep the Football Supporting Alumni happy. For the last 50 years that means some unexpected wins over good teams, winning several more games than you lose over a 4 or 5 year period, the occasional very good year, playing teams outside of the conference and region...

    So, who starts next year...

I'm not doubting MM can be the starter. But is he so much better than Leggett or Allen or Quaide that we would rather have him playing in 2016 rather than 2019.

    So, who starts next year...

Well, if CPJ had listened to me last year in the off season and moved Byerly to B Back (where he might not have gotten hurt) and let MJ get all those reps in the fall at QB rather than AB so he could have given JT some relief earlier, he might have won another Coach of The Year award. One thing...

    Is it Possible

Seems like most of the one score games came down to turnovers. Did we win the turnover margin in any game this year? As takethepoints said, we played a lot of games on wet or rainy fields with inexperienced players.

I'm just going to leave this here.......

We beat one of the top 10, FSU. We gave away the game against another, UNC. Had a shot at a third with a couple of less mistakes, ND. We managed to play just below the level of competition for most of the year. Sort of like a streak of second best hands in a Poker Game.

Didn't Gailey have a lot of cleanup to do academically after O'Leary left. Hell, O'Leary couldn't keep his own academic record straight. I liked O'Leary and was very disappointed to see him leave, but I've been to two Orange Bowls with CPJ, and that hadn't happened since Dodd was here.

    278 days until kick off

The entire season was like waiting for Godot. Kept thinking some spark was going to ignite, and then boom. Somebody would break out like Snoddy or Days or White last year and everything would begin to fall into place. It was like riding in a car stuck in 2nd gear. Instead, the hits just kept...

    Offseason

I suspect Spring Practice will be hell on earth. I thought it interesting that PJ commented post game that what Marshall needed most was some competition and he would get it from Leggett, Quaid, and some others.

Has there ever been a season like this?

Have I seen this before? Oh hell yes. Our last 55 years against uga is just like this season. I posted a thread six months ago about where the vast majority of losses to uga since our 8 game win streak was by one score or less. Many many were on the last possession. Clemson is sorta the...

Couple of observations during a GT-less Saturday

And yet, we are one play away from beating UNC's best team in a generation, one play away from beating Pitt and Uva, one KO return away from beating Duke on the road. UNC and Pitt gave us no turnovers while we gave them a couple each IIRC. We also lost the TO battle to Duke and Uva. Some on...

Film Study Film Study - Offense vs Duke

I remember the same thing, Boomer, from 40+ years ago when I was in Basic Training. The DI's butt chewings were comedic riffs involving homosexuality, female anatomy, sex with animals, sexual perversions, in-breeding, prostitution, sadomasochism, and excrement designed to make somebody else...

Film Study Film Study - Offense vs Duke

Observations: - Shaq should have won the Heisman as he was obviously the best player in the country at the end of the year. Whenever we needed a couple of yards, we knew where to get them. Always. - Laskey and Days found creases to squirt thru for first downs that Skov can't. It seems to me...

    Intro Video from Thursday night

Well for sure we know uga grads didn't hack into the server as they would only be able to hack with a hacksaw. Perhaps Hillary had an e-mail stored there.
