  1. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Of course not. With the new coach, Collins himself will be reason that the new coach can't win if he isn't winning. Blaming others is easier than personal accountability.

Slovis was #2 overall on Kiper's big board going into the 2021 season. Even with his injuries he was still projected to be a 2nd-3rd round pick if he came out. You may be underselling him a bit. He will certainly be the starter.
  3. Can we stay competitive in the NIL era?

For Texas and Texas A&M 25-30 million dollars spread out amongst a group of billionaires isn't really going to move the needle that much. Texas A&M in this case got the #1 recruiting class in the country for their money. They got 5 of the top 33 players in the country. What it does do is put...

They have already replaced him with Kedon Slovis, another QB likely to be drafted in the higher rounds. He will still have Addison and they are adding Konata Mumpfield. They are going to have a really good offense.

Im arguing Yates over Sims for that one particular game. A game in which we saw with our own eyes Sims play terrible and Yates play pretty well. Your theory that we lost that game because of Yates and we would have won if Sims had played the whole game is ludicrous to anyone who actually watched...

So the guy who led us to a 14-0 deficit with a 4-9 performance for 23 yards a lost fumble and some of the ugliest passes ever seen was certainly going to do better than the guy who replaced him and led us on three scoring drives to take the lead before the defense squandered it? Sims getting...
  7. Why is Thacker still employed?

It somewhat makes sense if Geoff is going to be the main guy in charge of the defense next year. I also doubt there were many options out there willing to come into a bad situation for relatively meager pay.

So in your opinion we would have beaten NIU had Sims stayed in there and Yates is the reason we lost? That is certainly an interesting take on it.
  9. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Yeah, hard to argue that the BC loss was worse than VT when BC beat them easily the week before our game. NIU was certainly the worst team we lost to. The worst loss for me though was ND. We didn’t even remotely compete in that game. We looked like a bad FCS team against a team that beat FSU...

Sigh. This comes up couple of days. You don't get to tell fans how to be fans and you don't get to say what they can discuss in regards to the team they support. If the mods want to turn this site into a non negative promotional marketing site for the team then by all means they are in their...
  11. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

I sincerely hope he is right. These rumors were out there days ago though, before that there were rumors of Miami as well. I doubt Williams even knows where he will go at this point. USC doesn't really need him either but im sure they would take him. If they do then I would guess Jaxton Dart and...
  12. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

He is going to go where the money is. I don't think UGA will end up doing it but they have a legitimate chance to win a national championship with Stetson Bennett. Imagine if they replaced him with one of the best QBs in college football who would have two years of eligibility left. Having...
  13. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

There are rumors out there that UGA is involved in the Caleb WIlliams sweepstakes. Let's see who ponies up the most.
  14. Have we filled all of our coaching vacancies yet?

He has 4 years of experience as a QBs coach. Two at the pro level and two at the college level in the SEC. None of the QBs he coached were all that great. He may be a good recruiter though. I know nothing about him in that regard.
  15. Have we filled all of our coaching vacancies yet?

Im a little meh on Weinke, but I do like letting Long concentrate on playcalling and TE's though. He seems better suited over there.

What exactly are your true baseline expectations for GT? If winning 7 games and finishing 2nd in the coastal isn't even deemed competitive in your eyes then what is? Are you expecting 10+ wins a year and close games against UGA and Clemson all of the time?
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I was actually in favor of moving on from Johnson. Mostly because I felt the fan base had grown stagnant and it was showing in attendance. Its hard to coach in one location that long unless you are winning 10+ games a year regularly. We needed a different direction to build hope and interest...
  18. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

So should we judge our current offense going forward based on how well they perform against UGA and Clemson?
  19. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Did he need to make adjustments to his offense? We finished in the top 20 in offensive efficiency his final year. Now we can't crack the top 75.
  20. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

    He signed with Pitt yesterday.
