  1. Coaching Upgrade?

Seems like the new OC and QBs coach should improve things as far as QB play, TE play and play calling in general are concerned. They will have to overcome significant turnover at RB and WR, and probably another poor OL so they have their work cut out for them. I do think they can improve things...
  2. We need to jump ship

The Alliance served it's true purpose.
  3. We need to jump ship

We are an AAU school in a media market they don't currently cover. That's why the Big 10 wanted us.
  4. We need to jump ship

That really should be our main focus. Even if we could bolt to the Big 10 right now with no buyout, no grant of rights issues, and no reduced payout, we would still be in the position of being one of, if not the lowest revenue generating team in the Big 10. We will still be behind our...
  5. We need to jump ship

    That is looking less likely.
  6. We need to jump ship

Even if we somehow got out of the grant of rights, we would have to pay a 52 million dollar exit fee. Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland all had reduced payouts from the Big 10 for years while they waited to become full members. We likely would as well. On top of all of that our travel costs will...
  7. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Alabama had the #1 defense in the country in 2015. Clemson put up 550 yards and 40 points on them. We saw what UGA's defense could do against Bama at full health in the SEC championship game. I don't think they were going to shut down Watson.

We didn't play Miss St in 2015 anyways. However, I would argue the 2015 Deshaun Watson Clemson team that only lost one game to Alabama by 5 points in the National Championship is probably close to the 2021 UGA team if not better.

Give me a break. Our strength of schedule was 14th in the country in 2015 vs 32nd in 2021 and we performed far better against that tougher schedule in everything except wins. Again, we won 9 games the next year and nobody was all that surprised. Are you ready to predict 9 wins for next year?
  10. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

From the list above its pretty easy to compare the 2015 team to the 2021 team. They ended up with the same record but not nearly the same path to it. The 2015 team lost 9 games by a combined 82 points. The 2021 team lost 9 games by a combined 169 points. The 2015 team beat a 10 win top 15 team...
  11. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

This is supported in FEI rankings as well which have fallen off a cliff. The most concerning thing to me is just how poorly we performed last year. Our ranking dropped or stayed level in nearly every offensive and defensive category from 2020. Plus punting went from 1st to 90th. It was a bit of...
  12. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

Collins has somewhat created this impression himself. When he shows up 10-15 minutes late to post game press conferences after a bad loss and says he is late because because the guys are disappointed and he wanted to make sure they know he loves them, it creates an impression that he might be...
  13. We need to jump ship

Yeah, assuming we would have been a perennially ranked team when we didn't finish ranked the last 7 years we were in the SEC, with the best coach we ever had seems like wishful thinking.
  14. We need to jump ship

If we went to the SEC or the Big 10 right now, we would be near the bottom of those conferences in terms of revenue even with the extra money. We would struggle to compete long term. The truth is we have a mediocre program at best with a small declining fan base. We would be fine in the ACC if...
  15. We need to jump ship

SEC and Big 10 isn't really the end game. You really think the big schools are going to continue letting Vandy, Kentucky, Illinois, Purdue, etc. take an even share of football revenue when they don't really make an effort to compete? No. It will get contracted further. The best hope is there...
  16. 2022 Schedule??

There are rumors that the ACC is going to try to drop divisions in the conference soon. If that happens I hope we can start playing Clemson at the same rate as the rest of the conference. Putting ourselves at a competitive disadvantage to start every season seems foolish.

We couldn't get 5 star guys before NIL. Im not sure how we are going to now when they command 7 figure payouts. NIL is going to be the driving force in upper 4 star and 5 star recruiting going forward. If we are trying to compete for those guys then we need to find a legitimate source of revenue...

Im just trying to imagine how many recruits out there have the mindset of "Well even after 9 wins in three years, players jumping ship, coaches jumping ship, and recruiting team members jumping ship, I was still going to pick GT but then I saw what WreckinGT said on GTSwarm and I just can't do it.".
  19. Suddes

I'm not sure that is the actual reality of what's going on but if you feel it is, then thats unfortunate. What im starting to realize is the real problem is that some on here are taking things way too seriously. There seems to be a fragileness to this site that doesn't really exist most other...

Yes, if some come to internet message boards to voice their frustration with their team that has been really bad the last few years then that obviously means that they are completely miserable in real life and they are ruining the lives of everyone around them. Completely logical jump there.
