Anyone who thought we were going to fall from the teens to out of the polls by losing on the road against a team in the top 10 isn't the brightest. Poll inertia is a real thing.
Whoa hold on. I was with you until there. That Iowa defense was stacked. I'm pretty sure every single starter on that D was drafted. Calling them inferior is a little disingenuous.
Not a chance. They don't have a conference championship game and their out of conference schedule isn't just bad it's atrocious. I don't think last year's drama will have anything to do with it. At least if the committee does it's job properly.
Honestly, it's really not worth it to stress out...
This isn't even a poll. It's power rankings. You won't see this cited or talked about anywhere other than ESPN's web site. ESPN won't even reference these when they broadcast games. It doesn't matter.
I'm pretty young myself so I can't speak with much authority but I imagine that with the media prevalence you hear about it a lot more than you used to. Doesn't necessarily mean it happened less.
Yep. Just heard that great news. He's done and if he's not he should be. Dude has got a problem.
The worst off-season of all time just keeps getting worse.
The article is from SBNation's 49er blog. The 49ers have been slammed with departures this offseason and they include three sudden retirements. They're trying to make light of that. It's a joke and some of the readers are playing along.
It's been a rough couple months to be a niner fan.
And all those guys except Farmer blew out their arms. As I've said probably a million times that has just as much to do with our pitching woes as anything.
Definitely some good news. If we can avoid the injury bug for once and a lot of regression we should have a pretty deep and talented pitching staff next year.
Makes you wonder if this and Gooden's departure aren't related. Gotta find that scholarship somewhere.
Not necessarily. He did have TJ surgery and his stuff may not have come back. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall or was "encouraged" to leave. Could save us two years of a blown out arm. We've had too many of those the past few seasons.
Hmm that could certainly make it more difficult to get out of state students and would appear to give an advantage to public schools over more expensive private ones. Would love to see some official comments on this.
Do you mean across all sports or just baseball? I know baseball has a limit of 11.7 total scholarships but I don't know the deal with the actual dollar figures. That could be a big deal.
