  1. Game 6 #GTvsMIA Media

BS. This one setback, as embarrassing as it is, does not in any way lump this season / team / staff into the 3.3 years of ineptitude under Collins. Ultimately, Key might fail to turn this around and history will view it as part of a 6-7 year debacle spanning both coaches, but not today. Not yet.
  2. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Excellent! Sounds like we’ve got em right where we want em! ;)
  3. Mutts

I can’t imagine they would request a change of venue…
  4. Let's keep some perspective here on our NEW HC

Exactly. Collins had a lot of attributes that made him very easy to make fun of. However, I think most everyone was still optimistic, and cut him slack for the on-field performance for at least two years. Mid to late year three, it was clear that improvement was not coming anytime soon and...
  5. Since we’re slinging it this year

    SO FAR…
  6. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Nope… While a bunch of fans may not have had Thacker as their FIRST choice, I don’t recall many saying he was a BAD choice. We knew he was young and inexperienced but it also looked like he was on to something and maybe we had our diamond in the rough What was unanimous and indisputable is that...
  7. Since we’re slinging it this year

That’s a pretty underwhelming DETMER… I guess last weekend really clouded my perception of how clean he has been playing all year. Converting a couple more red zone opportunities would help too…
  8. Since we’re slinging it this year

With a Haynes King thread moving into a rating systems debate, I got to thinking about this. I feel like we are CRUSHING it! Is there an update to be found? I feel like we would compare favorably…
  9. CFP Discussion

No apologies! Its up to each individual poster to pick one of an infinite number of outlandish scenarios in order to best lay out their case for why the system is flawed and biased toward the most deplorable team/conference of their choosing. For what it’s worth, I see no reason why a three...
  10. CFP Discussion

I've lost track of what scenario is being argued in this thread, honestly. However, I think you are mostly right.. Hard to imagine any undefeated P5 champ is left out.... unless ALL 5 conference champs are undefeated. With Losses being "equal," the selections will likely follow conference...
  11. On to Miami

I think a lot of times the special uniforms turn out to be the final back-breaking distraction for teams that are prone to be head cases anyway. Miami of recent history has fit that bill. We, unfortunately, have fit that bill.
  12. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

You are not wrong, but I would point to a different handful of guys. we knew all along that Thomas, Eley and White, were gone after last year. Not that those guys are easy to replace, but if you are going to be successful, you have to have answers for known departures. What I think is more...
  13. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Absolutely! After a performance like Saturday, you close ranks, evaluate and react accordingly. Nobody should be talking about staff changes in public until the changes have been made. Besides, what coach hasn’t gotten the “vote of confidence” before the axe man comes?
  14. Thacker out at DC, now Safeties coach

Unfortunately I think we did exactly that coming out of the half. First play from scrimmage we were locked up in man and they motioned TE across the formation and NO ONE went anywhere near him. 50 yard catch and run on a little swing pass when we absolutely HAD to have a stop and regroup. D is...
  15. Where do we go from here?

It’s a bad loss to a team we should've easily beaten. If someone is making an argument otherwise, I haven’t seen it. What has been said (by me, and maybe others) is that BG cleaned up the garbage that made them look REALLY bad (good for them) and we allowed them to do it (we own that)...
  16. Where do we go from here?

That’s exactly the embellishment and agenda I mean… No need to make a totally baseless claim that this BG team is “far worse“ than NIU of two years ago. Its total conjecture and may prove entirely untrue. At any rate, its totally irrelevant. Otherwise, you’re on target.
  17. Where do we go from here?

No one serious about the success of this team is excusing this loss. We also don’t need to embellish it. It’s bad enough on face value. We became a “get right” game for a MAC offense that was reeling. Our D is historically bad right now. BG is not nearly as good as we made them look, but...
  18. Bowling Green Post Game... 😢

the “middle 8” has been our nemesis all season so far.
  19. Where do we go from here?

No embellishment needed either way… It’s a bad loss, particularly for our D. You’re first point is exactly right… we let them have all the confidence in the world by never challenging them defensively. They played comfortably on O all day long. I’m not going to debate where it ranks in...
  20. Bowling Green Post Game... 😢

Turnovers (or turnover margin) accounts for most of the teams on the left side of this. BG flipped the script on us… they had been the turnover prone team up to this point.
