In the good news category: Read that a vaccinology professor at Oxford is 80% confident that we will have a vaccine by September. That would be pretty remarkable.

Didn’t say overnight. Nice straw man. You don’t know, nor does anyone, that it has a much, much higher mortality rate. Won’t be known for a while. You say it is twice as contagious, but that we are a ways away from herd immunity. This is also impossible to know. We could be closer than you...
  3. The ACC will delay the start of competition for all fall sports until at least Sept. 1

I think it’s about buying time. A shorter season allows you to start later. The later they start, the further along we are toward treatments/vaccine/herd immunity, etc. It also possibly allows to get in a full Fall practice schedule, which would be badly needed.

how about we keep this present day, versus going back 60+ years ago, since that’s what we’ve been discussing....USA as it is right now. probably best to either take this to PM or just call it a day, and you and dtm can go back to arguing about ice cream.

Yeah, I actually would. And I love how you just assume I can’t understand. Quit putting people in different categories and only viewing them through that lens. Man, if I interacted with my wife or my employees based on “just because things are better (and really good), it doesn’t mean...

You don’t know this. No one does, until we can do widespread testing and get clearer understanding of what the denominator is. Even then, we won’t fully know. I can make an assertion right now that it doesn’t kill people at an alarming rate (whatever alarming is), and neither one of us can...

It’s another example in a long line of “do as I say, not as I do”. These people are the biggest hypocrites there are. They are the opposite of what true leadership is.

Everything has to have a racial component these days. Even though 98% of what is going on the USA is much better for any racial minority relative to any time and place in the past, we have to harp on that 2%, and sometimes even make stuff up so that there appears to be a 2%.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I know this was all dumped in their lap quickly and with ever-changing guidance, so it's tough. I'm not super frustrated or worried at the moment. It sounds like we are all in pretty much the same boat right now. I haven't heard of anyone else getting money...

I applied for it and finished everything up on Wednesday. It was all done online through SmartBizLoans. My rep was very responsive and helpful. Now, it has supposedly been kicked back to my bank (Cadence) and I'm not really getting any good answers regarding an update.
  13. NCAA Tournament & COVID-19

Wow. We've all been living with viruses, bacteria, and germs surrounding us and inside of us for our entire lives. For the vast majority of us, our bodies have an amazing way of dealing with all of this and keeping us relatively healthy. This thing has really thrown a lot of people for a...

  15. General Investing and Economics Discussion - No Politics

This is such a unique situation we are in. The weakening of the economy and all the job losses was a very quick, purposeful thing. Businesses either voluntarily shut down or scaled way, or they were forced to, and it wasn't gradual. It was a very abrupt thing. The economy was doing good...

Great. I’d be fine with it. While we are at it, can we take Clemson off, too? I know this won’t be the popular opinion on here, but I don’t like starting the year off with 2 guaranteed losses.

Seriously, the fact that I don’t see crews out repairing all the damn pot holes around ATL right now tells me all I need to know about how they do things. It is the perfect time. All it takes is a truck with a crew of 2 or 3, and they could knock out several in 1 day.
