The Singapore issue seems to be mainly dormitory-style living conditions with migrant workers. I can see how that could have introduced it and spread pretty quickly. I noticed that they don't show up in your per capita ranking.

It says they tested positive, but show no symptoms. So, they could potentially spread it to someone (I guess?) who would then have a negative reaction, but that person themselves has no symptoms. That's why the number of cases isn't scaring me as much as it does others. Yes, we absolutely...

Yeah, with everyone pretty much shut in, it's more about the indoor climate than what the temp and humidity is outside. I think being shut in, especially in buildings like many people live in in NYC, has made matters worse.

K-12 schools should be back open. Kids from kindergarten age to high school age are at an incredibly low risk. The teachers can wear masks, gloves, keep distance, etc.

    Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

You’re right. Don’t think we can. And here’s 2 reasons why: 1. Fear of litigation. Need some changes and protections here. 2. People that are otherwise healthy and not old and, therefore, at pretty low risk, choosing not to participate in commerce, due to an overblown fear. These people...

Dr. Birx said they were using very liberal practices to count deaths. So how does that not result in some over-counting? If there have been more people dying at home, then there's going to be some of those that are due to people being too scared to go to the hospital during this time, so...

The deaths number is still too murky, and I suspect it will remain that way for a while. I know you've long held to the belief that there is only under-counting, but there are others who believe there are also many cases of over-counting. It is really hard to know what to believe and...

Nuclear holocaust could be happening and I swear I could come here and see a couple posters complaining about CDP.

It’s all a best guess, man. Even the “experts” don’t know the exact right formula. You can’t. There’s still too much unknown and it’s a very fluid situation. Someone has to step out and make a decision and, yes, take a risk. Some States are opening up; others are not. Some people will...

Yeah, I hate it, but fear of litigation is going to drive a lot of this and hold us back from getting going again. Lawyers are necessary, but man I wish there was a loser pays system.

Who said anything about coercion? It would be that individual's choice. I have no idea if enough players would want to play or not. Just throwing this out there as a possible way we can move forward in this environment.

Can we have people that want to participate sign a waiver, including both players who play and fans who want to be in the stands?

This is shocking to no one that is older than pre-school age. It's a rational choice that is being made by these people. If you incentivize sitting at home and not working, that's what you will get.

You're right, it has been viewed differently. It's made some people lose their ability to think rationally. They just emotionally react, and I've seen some people suggest that the standard of safety is to guarantee a 0% chance of getting C19. That's just ridiculous.
  16. Coronavirus Thread

OK. So then you have to accept that C19 death numbers aren’t official yet, either. We can all go round and round on this.

I looked at all of my guys in the eye and told them that, first of all, I put their health and safety first, and I asked them if they felt comfortable continuing to work. I'm a very small business. It's me and 6 other guys. 5 of the 6 wanted to keep working. 1 guy, who has high blood...
