Close, my friend! Nats, Caps (although, tbh, hockey isn't really my thing), Bullets (and it would be MY PLEASURE if they went back to being called the bullets) and....the browns.
I stopped following pro ball a bunch of years back because college was just so much more interesting, with more...
Looks like a botched read, to me. Looks like lee was trying to get to the 2nd level and Freeman squeezed down super hard, which to me means that should be a pull.
VT likes to squeeze their ends down like this, both to lock up the tackle and prevent him from cutting down the LB's and to confuse...
Ole Miss was a lot of fun, but showed me a side of America I didn't realize still existed, and didn't like. It left me soured on the state, and the school.
I'm from a town called Herndon. 2 towns over is Fairfax, where GMU is, so they're the local squad. GMU doesnt have football, and UVa is the home state school that plays big time football. Grew up rooting for their football team. If Mason ever gets a football team, they become my new number...
LOL, I was the only one on our board who was like "guys, this is REALLY not a good hire", and it was only because I had heard you guys so pissed off about the "clogged toilet offense" (believe you me, we came to understand that one) and other such jibes.
And, just to elaborate, GMU hoops was SUCH a good thing under Larranaga.
It was really this sense of community that NoVa tends to lack, that this was OUR team. Not DC's team. Not Richmond's team. Mason was for the 703. And Larranaga did it with kids from close by, with fat kids, and slow...
FWIW, before I'm a UVa fan, I'm a George Mason fan. You have no idea what Paul Hewitt did to our program. He DESTROYED us. We call him The Virus. The hatred we have for him burns with the heat of a thousand suns. He is the worst thing that has ever happened to Northern Virginia.
Anybody interested in a running convo about my 2nd favorite sport? Gustaffson's uppercut clinic? The ongoing travesty of Askren not fighting elite guys so we can say if he's legit or not? Is McGregor good or bad for the sport?
FWIW, this was my point. Almost nobody is going to recruit 5 stars at GT, and those that could are not guys that a) want to coach at GT, and b) GT can afford.
So, then, given that consistently recruiting like a powerhouse is probably not in the cards for GT no matter what, what do you want to...
Meh, recruiting ratings matter in the grand scheme of things. All things being equal, a team full of 5 stars is going to beat a team full of 3 stars more often than not. I won't pretend otherwise.
I think it's perfectly fair to say that Coach Johnson has proven that he cannot recruit 5 stars...
You all know damn well its Cutcliffe, and frankly I don't have a problem with it. He's trying to win games and win recruits and Georgia Tech is direct competition for him. Georgia Tech plays within the rules and so is cutcliffe.
